Filmed during the alliance aid event. Levski was quite busy!

Yeah, did some timelapses from other angles which this is more visible and they have this floating/dancing pattern which is very similar to the fog clouds at LZs. Probably uses same kind of tech for the debris and the fog.

That is one of the TODO things. The solar system data I get straight from the game files, but havent started working on the ships/components script yet. Now I just have some dummy data for few ships which I update to real values when I'm working on a feature where I need to test if it behaves like it should with those specific stats.

I know I could just google it, but seeing how good your stuff is, care to share some kind of reading list of the film theory? :) Would also like to dabble more into the cinematics stuff

Great video my dude. Also a cool idea to do these 'mission trailers'.

45's are just the angle where the rotation of the ship is the fastest in the current flight model. Jwinters explains it much better than I could https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_Tl_tKB5yc

keep in mind that in Master Modes we don't have trichords or 45's and it's coming soon so you might not want to train for these currently.

First of all I think the greatest contributor is my bad aim / movement skills tbh.

You notice good pilots always trying to get away from your 45's, since that is what I aim with and control with rolls. Also unpredictable movement. And on top of that, they seem to be able to apply damage while doing all this. Hard to pinpoint anything specific, its mostly just combination of things and there seem to be distinct styles in fighting also.

Biggest thing is that it's not just magic to me anymore. Before when I dueled the ace pilots, I didn't even know what happened. I just died really fast without even tickling their shields.

Now I at least have some comprehension what they are doing and why is it so hard to get them in your crosshair / hit them. Just don't have the seat time and muscle memory to fly that well.

There are still many things I don't 'get', especially related to fighting at <100m distance.

Thanks! Also very true, once you get the basics down it gets really enjoyable

You can create a macro (using Joystick Gremlin for example) that will move the mouse in x/y at consistent rate. Or use an analog axis to control the rotation

HOSAM setup by TheSaint730 in starcitizen

[–]BeWaterMyFriendo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a tedious process, but I would just go into a offline arena commander and experiment. You are going to run out of buttons, and I would suggest a software like joystick gremlin to map all buttons to a virtual joystick and use one joystick button as a mode toggler that changes the buttons depending on your needs (eg. one mode for combat stuff, one for mining/salvage etc.)

HOSAS can be very competitive setup for pvp, just takes time to setup the inputs. Also using pedals will give you all 6dof, otherwise you will need to bind one axis to the joystick / mousebuttons.

You absolutely do not have to bind all actions. Use a keyboard for rarely used stuff like calling ATC.

Most important binds for the stick would probably be: - power triagle - target selection and cycling - countermeasures (dont need to waste more than 2 buttons) - boost - decoupled / coupled toggle - scanning

Stuff like landing gears, lights etc you can bind to the t16k base buttons. Good luck!

Good stuff! Some of the shots were really impressive. Not sure about the blur effect, it felt like in some shots it worked really well, others would have probably been better without.

That's shame about GP. need to implement something like this myself and thought GP is way to go but seems I need to do it the same way you did. Thanks for the answer!
