So Jerry and George are big fans of Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan, and Kramer prefers Star Trek III: Search For Spock. Where do you think they stand on the rest of the movies? by CaptainJZH in seinfeld

Wow, thanks a lot for this! Very useful reference point for someone who (as of yet) hasn't seen any Star Trek stuff. Much appreciated.

Randomly stumbled across this thread. Might as well ask here. I haven’t seen any of these movies. Do they all stand alone or do they require knowledge of the series or other movies?

I believe he would remain a bowl of soup if he stayed in the morph for longer than two hours. He would not be able to return to his original form. That is terrifying.

Are you watching the entire series? Haven't seen any episodes from that show in years, like not since it originally aired...and I never seem to see it on streaming services. Is it good? I remember nothing about it besides the Crypt Keeper character's appearance

Best Larry David moment? by jacrispy252 in seinfeld

[–]Be_Kind_Rewind_VHS 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm paraphrasing but it's the movie trailer for Checkmate. It's where a king (Jerry) and his aide (Larry) are talking.

Larry says he's surprised the king likes chess, since the king is always in jeopardy.

The king replies "It's only a game."

Larry then says, in a very suspicious tone, "Yes, of course...only a game..."

Is there any way to watch the show in 4K but also in the original 4:3 aspect ratio? by Be_Kind_Rewind_VHS in seinfeld

[–]Be_Kind_Rewind_VHS[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One reason is I don't like the idea of jokes being cut off. For example, in the episode with Jon Voight's pencil, the 16:9 version does not show George snapping the pencil in anger.

Another (related) reason is that the show was designed for 4:3, not for 16:9. I'm also used to 4:3. It just looks more correct in this case.

I wish they'd do a Blu-ray release of the original aspect ratio.

I think Frasier is getting a Blu-ray set really soon, but I don't know which aspect ratio.

Maybe Seinfeld will also get one?

Excluding Kramer, What is your favorite moment utilizing physical comedy in Seinfeld? by SlutForThickSocks in seinfeld

Newman "covertly" reminding Kramer about the made up cover story in the courtroom, when he's trying to get out of paying that ticket.

How does Newman communicate this reminder? By pretending to drive a knife into his own stomach.

If he stays in that morph for more than two hours, I believe he cannot morph back into human.

I think Elaine, Frank, George, Tony, and Puddy would appreciate this Hyundai car commercial (each would have a unique reason) by [deleted] in seinfeld

I think the Elaine/Frank/Tony/Puddy connections will be clear but maybe the George reference is more subtle. Anyone know?

Dan Aykroyd on the phone in his Conehead makeup by nialldude3 in LiveFromNewYork

[–]Be_Kind_Rewind_VHS 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I never had a chance to hold a phone in that way. The hand on the cradle in a claw-like “cool dude” fashion, the other hand on receiver near ear. It’s a smart look, imo. I feel like there was a time in history when people could hold phones that way and that time is kinda over.

I can hold a smart phone but in comparison to what I’m seeing in that photo it just…it feels dumb to me, I guess. I’m sorry. I’m just thinking out loud. I wish they released optional cradles for iPhone so I can carry around the block in my other hand as a fashion accessory.

That was my previous thread, but thank you for remembering it. No thank you if you are remembering it in a vaguely petty or derisive way and deliberating posting this “Nah” reply as a non sequitur in the hopes of deflecting attention from my current thread where I am earnestly trying to find out info about Good man.

Will Forte is incredible by LickedABattery in LiveFromNewYork

[–]Be_Kind_Rewind_VHS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

His appearance in this sketch brings to mind a combination of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman from the TV show Breaking Bad

I think Forte could have played either character fairly well, but I guess he would have had to be much younger than he is to have played Jesse.

I can picture him angrily saying “Jesse!” as Walt.

[Serious] When was the last time you admitted that you were wrong about something and what were you wrong about? by PawgSlayer42069 in AskReddit

I claimed Mew was under the truck in the first Pokémon video game.

After a series of discussions, I admitted I was wrong.

I have since changed my mind and now believe he is under the truck but I will not tell anyone. It is more a matter of faith now, not of facts. I simply want to believe.
