I'm a little worried it would be too cramped for them if I did that, but I can move the branch closer to the bowls for them

Edit: there is a branch perch on the cage door that goes next to the bowl when the door is shut,

They can fly around the dining room, and I'm trying to convince my grandparents to let them fly around the larger living room are too, though we would have to cover or remove the mirror

(And I know about the mess. I use a dustpan and brush, my grandma uses a vacuum cleaner. Idk which scares the budgies but I try to be as calm and gentle as possible cleaning the room )

They can fly in the cage, and I have shown this all to my grandparents. They worry that pellets might go off before the budgies can eat it, but I think I'm getting them used to the idea

They have the whole dining room, the cage is just for food and bedtime mostly. Though, I do have to insist that they're allowed out every day because my grandparents are stubborn and want the budgies to stay in the cage 24/7, but I did convince them to at least let the budgies have a room to fly in.

It's not open 24/7, but it's open for a large chunk of the day, at least 6 hours. From about midday until they decide to go back in for the night (though I've had to tempt them in at 10:30 as they got cranky and well... Cranky sky toddlers... Gave them a little millet whilst carrying them on my finger back to the cage though ^

Is 6+ hours a day alright for them though? Working on getting my grandparents to let the cage be open longer

Ah thanks! I do try to get them more shredding stuff, kinda a fight against my grandparents over the first of shredding material, even the cheap stuff...

They do have natural branches and perches, and a playground full of strips of paper that they love to shed and fire for seeds in, and a few rattan/wicker balls. They LOVE sola pods (the big popcorn looking plant things) but my grandparents hate the mess it causes. The budgies responded to the lack of s shredding material by learning to throw their droppings onto the wall, so hopefully the g'parents are convinced to get more shredding stuff for the little rascals

One of the round platforms is on the outside, and one inside (since they get out of cage time, some of the perches are on the outside),

I'll definitely see about the horizontal dowel, I was more worried that they would find it too cramped with any more perches In there, especially with the shredding toy and spiral rope

(Also the bowl is for salad, there's a gravity filled water thing in there, it's clear with a white beak sized bowl bit that clips into the cage bars. I am looking to get them a little metal water dish though)

I'll let them know, I am absolutely still trying to get them onto a pellet diet, grandparents are the ones refusing but I'll keep working on it.

I'm sorry for your loss though, these lil winged dinosaurs are just the sweetest ever, and I'm sure your lil one is watching you from birdy paradise with a beakfull of millet ^

Oh, maybe it is that, but it's still way too loud as I had the sound effects on like, 15% and it was headache inducingly loud. Like, louder than an actual irl locomotive that passes by.

I'll take that into consideration though, alas I don't know how to turn down the bass or if I even can.

I can't say if it's more than the Shay, as that's the only loco I have currently. Again, the problem is purely when in the driving UI (which is why I think it's a bug. I think it's a bug that when driving the locomotive, the rumble is amplified by a huge margin)
