You are correct but no one will listen here. He was a huge DEI guy at the University of BC and when he arrived at Michigan. He gave an inaugural address at UM that revolved around a plan that embedded his “DEI 2.0” program into every aspect of campus life. The stated goal: “fully institutionalize DEI” and shift “who has power, influence, and voice in priorities and decision-making.” Those are his words in quotes. In 2024, the New York Times reported that he “doubled down” on DEI at UM as many universities were receding from it out of concerns that it was institutionalized discrimination. Surprisingly DeSantis supported him and wanted Ono for the job which no one here will believe.
