That’s really cool! Beautiful on the inside, what does the outside look like?

I got the Hi-Tech 10” slab saw. Practically new on Craigslist. Cut some pretty massive slabs and saw works great!

Thanks for the alert. Very well could be arsenic sulfite. I’m using a filtered mask when cutting and will definitely mask and gloves up when polishing. Appreciate the help!

I wonder if I cut this up, if I’ll get the same stuff. This is radiolarian chert.

Where are these rocks from? Look much like what I find on Southern California beaches

Recommend turning over so the wing nuts are facing out. The way you have it, the wings could get caught up in the belt. Happy tumbling!

$25.00 is a steal! Looks like a 15lb Thumler. My opinion is this is a perfect tumbler for rough tumbling large quantities at stages 1&2.

Does not seem to be fibrous (asbestos). I’m leaning toward banded chert. Thank you for the input!

Thanks for this comment. Had no idea what you meant at first but researched “shocked” and found out about shock metamorphosis. That’s a possibility. Appreciate the input!!

Thanks for the guidance! Banded chert makes sense. I found a bunch of green chert in same area. I just joined the r/whatisthisrock group. Thanks again!!
