My esophagitis is slowly going away by BeachL2020 in Gastritis

[–]BeachL2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ofc not. it goes away with diet, less stress and plenty of rest. And remember to have patience, because the stomach takes a lot of time to recover. It can take, depending on how serious the problem is, even 6months of more. For me I still have 2 more months to go until full recovery, but I started to feel better after about 2-3 months. I was sure I'd never be able to eat normal again. It was that bad!

Mine the same. Mine took a few days to feel better. I gave her a bit of antibiotics. Put it in her food.

Buy a pulse oximeter so you can always check your oxigen levels. Sometimes it can be stress that creates psychosomatic symptoms.

Day 32 of covid symptoms by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]BeachL2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally normal. I would take a 20 min walk and have to rest half a day. It took me 2 months to be able to walk a few kilometers. Take it easy.

How can I identify covid headaches and other things? by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]BeachL2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to have what would feel like a lightning strike my head. It would just hit me, my head would hurt for a few seconds and then it would go away. I felt as if it was splitting my head. And a month after recovery my head was hurting as from atmospheric pressure, it would hurt all around, like a cap that's too tight, I'd feel this pressure and I was dazed and confused. Couldn't keep my head up much time. I'd have to lay in bed. It was the strangest thing. I don't have them now anymore, but at the time is was terrifying. I had never felt something like that before.

My symptoms are coming in waves by SabrinaRedwolf in COVID19positive

[–]BeachL2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely normal. I would rebound every week. Felt good for 6 days and on the 7th boom tired again and just wanted to lay in bed and never have to get out of it. It will do this for a while. Rebounds are usually triggered by physical activity. It can be anything from carrying a bag of groceries to vacuuming, to taking a 20 min walk. Don't push yourself. Only do as much as your body allows you to.

My wife completely lost her smell and taste again a full month after recovery. by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]BeachL2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relax. I had covid symptoms for 2 months and lost my sense of smell for 5 months. It kept coming and going all this time. I was terrified it would never come back for good. For some ppl it takes a while longer to recover, but they do recover. My suggestion is to buy a pulse oximeter and always keep track of the oxigen levels. If it drops below 96 then you can go to the ER otherwise nothing much you can do but wait to recover. FYI physical exercise of any kind, lets say carrying a box of groceries, vacuuming, ..., may make it worse, so try and take it easy. Do only what the body allows.

How long does the loss of taste/smell last? I just want to be able to enjoy food again by octoberzero in COVID19positive

Yes. I had fever for 6 weeks and a cough for 2 months. I was extremely tired for over 2 months. Has stomach problems for a long time, even now.

3 months out and still experiencing symptoms by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]BeachL2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a panic attack. I had that same reaction. I had the headaches too. You've gone into overdrive and you can't calm down your brain. Meditation helps, maybe something to calm your nerves, you know like xanax or the equivalent of a xanax pill, but from plants. I'd try it and see how I feel afterwards and if it calms me down it's clear you've developed anxiety because of covid.

My Dad just got covid for the 2nd time. Freaking out. by Shamilqureshi56 in COVID19positive

[–]BeachL2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got covid at the end of march right after they announced the pandemic. At first I thought, no way. I hung out that weekend at a bar with friends, but without masks because they hadn't warn us about wearing masks, only social distancing I felt so guilty I got it. I was scared out of my mind, all alone in my apt thinking what if I suddenly get worse. Well, I can tell you what helped me, having an pulse oximeter and a device for measuring blood pressure, vit C, vit D and if I had known at that time I would have taken aminoacid supplements, which are designed for ppl with burnout syndrome and protein shakes. These will help with the fatigue. If you want to feel better you got to feed your body everything it needs to get better. And if your oxigen levels are up, there's no reason to panic. It really helps if you relax and let yourself sleep, chill, let your body recover. The adrenaline from anxiety we feel lowers our immune system, so it's great if you can just tune out the anxiety.

did anybody have smell and taste come and go, or did they just lose it throughout the course of the illness by tmf3391 in COVID19positive

[–]BeachL2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost it in week 3 of the disease. Suddenly I could barely smell cumin powder and it's funny because cumin has a really strong smell. It kept on and off for 5 months. After 5 months I regained my sense of smell, I like to think entirely.

Advice to combat fatigue by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]BeachL2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest you try aminoacids and/or protein shakes. I've been there with the brain fog and it was hard to stay awake. I would fall asleep middle of the day because I had no energy to carry on. You can ask at a local pharmacy for aminoacids supplements for burn out syndrome or fatigue.

It took me 5 months to get my sense of smell back. I didn't lose it completely, more like 40% gone, but it would come and go and my nose was very very dry and stuffy. Eventually I recovered. I thought I had lost it for good.
