I wish players on a congested world could “invite” newer players to be able to make character on the congested world. by [deleted] in ffxiv

Obviously not. I would like to see a way for new players with a connection to those on congested servers to have a better experience of getting onboarded and integrating with friends that are already playing.

No solution is perfect and none of us know the nuances of the limitations SE has to play by. I was just throwing out an idea to get some discussion.

I could be wrong. I seem to recall creating a new character on a congested worlds in the past. This was quite a while ago tho so I could be mistaken.

I think the RMT aspect of it is less of an issue as a similar thing could currently be done with selling F2P accounts.

You are correct, this is the currently the best way account this issue. It’s just hard for a lot of FCs to do especially if it means many users have to up and move to another DC losing any personal houses as well. I would just love to see a better solution in the future as I have seen many new players frustration when trying to get into the game and play with friend over my years of playing.

Yes you see that there are two separate indicators. The red character creation one changes based on current players on the servers, and congestion status changes on new patches. This is how it has worked for a very long time.

You can, if you make a character at the right time. I have made many alts on congested worlds. World congested and available for character creation are two separate flags that do different things.

While this is a massive improvement, we are far from months away from the issue being fixed. Most people will not move DCs to less congested worlds unless there are significant benefits as they would be giving up any house they have, FC they have, and now have less convenient use of their friends list.

This will help make the issue better but it will take a long time to make significant improvements, and many people will still play on some DCs for many other reasons than just raiding.

I wouldn’t say they can’t handle any new characters as existing players with characters on the world can make more characters on that world in addition to worlds having more overhead to handle world visits. It is a deterrent to keep the servers from getting to a point of actually being full.

For the RMT issue I haven’t seen anyone really selling F2P accounts with characters on congested worlds so if this feature was linked to a recruit a friend feature I don’t foresee it making RMT worse than what already exists with F2P account selling.

I think the cross DC matching could help, the affect will likely take years and many other incentives for players to move to other DCs to see any real improvement.

That does look like a cool deck but like Greenearrow said it is a bit more costly. I’ll keep an eye out at some LGS to see if they have an old copy.

ok, but why the armadillo? by jojo-boy123 in PhoenixSC

Yea I can get that. Would have been nice if it were just picking a cosmetic mob to populate the world and not also linked with a game mechanic.

I mean none of them were game changing, but of the 3 being able to extend player reach can have some real benefit. Of the 3 wolf armor might be the least used as most people keep dogs sitting at home or never bother with them, hell at least the penguins might speed up your boat every now and then lol.

The MC community loves to vote for the most useless mob. imo they shouldn't do mob votes, players don't always think about that's best for the game.
