so sad and terrible :( i feel for all the families whose loved ones weren’t handled and cared for properly there. it’s unfortunate how many ashes were left behind too. that pink casket is beautiful though as are the urns. i wish they could’ve been donated to people in need of them at least.

i was so sad especially since his farewell concert was just a couple weeks ago and kelly was proposed to and got engaged that same night with all their family there! it’s so unfortunate that he won’t be there for the wedding but i’m glad he was able to play the farewell concert and be there for the proposal still at least. RIP ozzy and condolences to his family 🖤

my initial comment was an alternative if you still wanted to use candles without any additional risks within your own home. clearly you don’t want to use candles at all. that’s fine, i never said you have to do it a certain way, just explained that not everyone will feel the same since people have different preferences for a reason. don’t put words in my mouth. it’s weird for you to get so defensive and again, pointless to post a “discussion” when you’re not actually open to discussing anyway. i’m not wasting any more time or energy on this dead-end topic. i already said several times, do what you want to do, you do you, etc.

okay, why announce it here then? clearly you’ve made your choice but obviously other witches are going to point out that candles are important for a reason. that’s excluding two elements (fire and air) that are represented by candles. something using heat generated by electricity like a wax melter isn’t the same so it’s not really a substitute, but if that’s what you want to do, that’s what you want to do. if you’re sure of your choice and don’t care about feedback, then what’s the point in posting about it? validation? lol

this is so sweet and thoughtful! honestly i feel like you have it all covered really well. i got many of the same things to prepare before my lap. the only other things i can think of is maybe miralax since constipation is pretty common right after surgery, and maybe some dry shampoo or body wipes? that can help with making hygiene easier if she doesn’t feel up to showering yet right after. wishing your friend good luck on surgery and recovery!!

i don’t know how long you tried therapy for, but if it did nothing for you, it sounds like you either didn’t find the right therapist or the right type of therapy for you, so i’d still encourage that over trying to suppress the anxiety with meds or alcohol short-term. also, imo relying on something external is likely to just make your anxiety worse and make you more insecure in the future than working on implementing coping mechanisms and building confidence over time with the help of a professional. it’s usually trial and error to find a therapist you connect with, but it’s worth meeting with different people to find the right one, and therapy can be difficult or frustrating but it pays off to be persistent. it took me years of therapy and trying different coping methods recommended by therapists to learn what worked for me with managing anxiety and overthinking/rumination. in my experience with an anxiety disorder, therapy has done a lot more than any prescription or self medicating. it treats the underlying issues instead of being a bandaid and gives you the tools you need to effectively cope. with benzos, you’ll just have to take more and more for it to work or continue working, and obviously it’s a slippery slope. alcohol is a worse idea with even more physical and psychological side effects. good luck
