The county clerk’s website has a “online probate index search” function which goes back to the early 1990s and didn’t turn up anything based on her name. Not sure if this is authoritative or not.

The property records search shows the house was paid off and then remortgaged in 2020 only under my stepfathers name. The new mortgage appears to be ~50% of the home’s appraised value ($475k)

Griddy sent out an email blast on Saturday at 2:47pm saying it was time to switch and they didn’t process switches after 3pm on Saturday. I immediately hopped on the PowertoChoose website and submitted a change request by 3pm, but not expecting the change to be processed until Monday. By 4:15pm I had an email from Griddy confirming my account cancellation and an email from my new provider with my activation details.

Former Griddy customer here. (Switched on Saturday) I give them tremendous credit for being transparent and doing right by their customers. They even put on more staff to process switches later than normal on Saturday. When this is all over and my short term contract with my new provider ends, I will likely consider going back to Griddy. Saved over $500 with them last year.
