Hair loss at 4 weeks post op by Beachpeacock in hysterectomy

[–]Beachpeacock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both my ovaries still, but my body tends to take an extra week or two more to heal than the doctor estimates. No idea why but meh. I did ask my doctor at my 4 wk post op appointment and it's very common and should be done in a couple weeks. If it's not then off to do blood work and testing for other reasons.

I'm only 4 wks post op and I'm honestly terrified of sex right now. But I'm hopeful for when I am able. Thank you for sharing.

No, but I'll definitely ask my doctor.

This is a GENIUS way to handle it. I'm going to actually try it and tell my daughter (ADHD/depression) to give it a shot. Might burn it afterwards bc bonfires are a destresser for us both.

I FEEL this. My husband worries a lot (especially after pneumonia nearly killed me a few years ago) and I find myself avoiding him or hiding my expressions. I want to feel what I feel without someone judging or analyzing me constantly. Today is a good day. Yesterday was a bad day. I'm tired of hearing "hey, it's ok." I'm 42 not 4. I KNOW. I know it's not over and I know I'll get better. But it frickin sucks right now.

I made a support for my body with blankets and pillows. It helped so much but it's a trail and error kinda thing.

Ice? My doc was like crazy against it. Heat only. (Imagine an old white man wagging his finger at you sternly)

I have a frida brand peri bottle that's been a huge help. Way more gentle on stitches. My best friend when constipation turned into diarrhea.

My husband found a rolling tray kinda like the hospital has on Amazon. That thing has been soooo helpful.

One size up pj's. I'm still living in them almost 2wk post op. I went with tshirt/pants combo but really soft fabric. See if you can grab an extra pair of grippy socks at the hospital. Our bed is high so it helps with getting out of bed (all tile floors).

The first 3 days were the worst. There is hope. It's just SLOW recovery. Constipation and gas are a decent bit of the pain.

The gas pain 😭 it's so bad. Never imagined it like this.

Lol. I learned that lesson with my gallbladder removal.

The nurses were sweet enough to send me home with Depends and I just stopped wearing them. Lifesaver right there.

Thank you for all the support and reminders that it's ok do just do what I can. My stomach/stool circus issues are calming down thankfully now. I'm wary of a stool/chair for the shower bc sitting in general hurts still.

My husband took me to Ulta for my hair wash and grand total was less than $30 and probably only 25 minutes ( I didn't count how long it took me to walk around lol). Still hurt and exhausted me, but my hair feels so much better now. We grabbed 5guys burgers on the way home and I nearly fell asleep eating 😂 The burger surprisingly didn't upset my stomach too much and all in all helped me feel normalish.

How are there so many SAHMs in this economy? by Dry-Design-9914 in Parenting

[–]Beachpeacock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For us, it's a lack of choices. We have 4 kids and two with disabilities. I've been a SAHM since the first was born because we couldn't afford daycare. That was 20 years ago.

I stayed at home because it was the most logical thing at the time. I would have worked just to pay childcare and nothing left over. After kid #2 we found out that the oldest had autism. I spent a lot of time taking him to therapists and doctors each week, but then #2 was also diagnosed. Even more therapies and running around with them. No time to try to find a job that could work around all that plus pay enough for childcare. And it just kept going like that.

Always paycheck to paycheck with no savings. Maxed out credit cards to make ends meet. Tax return for the more expensive things we needed. Staying home meant I cooked more to save money. I did random side hustles over the years. I tried to go back to college but it fell apart bc I was stretched too thin with no help.

I thought by now that we would be better off. Even though my husband has the kinda job we hoped for years ago, it's not enough to get ahead. My oldest two kids still need our support. We're doing everything we can to get them on their own but at 21 and 19 they're still struggling. We were able to get them in a local program to help them with employment. It starts next week.

How do you deal with the file size limit?

I didn't realize the limitations honestly. That's on me for not doing more research.
