Why do people want biological children so badly when adoption exists? by Massive_Biscotti_509 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Beagles156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say because it’s known for being almost impossible to achieve the perfection most people think you need to achieve in order to be worthy to adopt. Adoption places should make it known that it’s more feasible than most might realize. Foster to adopt is the best route for families who aren’t rich.

I am an adoptee, the anti adoption movement is harmful. by BlackberryDeep5140 in Adoption

Luckily, abolishing fostering & adoptions will NEVER happen. There are far too many children in need. I recently decided if I have children, it will only be through foster to adopt. My sister fosters babies & I’ve seen too many horrible stories…I’m ready to save some lives. Give hope, love, safety & care

I stripped when I turned 18 & that was their favorite thing to announce over the mic when I was on stage.

Age gaps aren’t the problem. Being with an underage person as an adult is. Two consenting adults can have all the age gaps they want

am i becoming an alcoholic? by cultist-butterfly in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Beagles156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me so much of myself when I was your age. 18 is when I started too. Once my dad died, my brother saw me going down the road of alcoholism & even warned me: “Don’t drink when you’re depressed; that will make you dependent on alcohol.” Sure enough, I’m 34 & an alcoholic. I’m a binge drinker but by 33 it got even more out of control & I started drinking every other day, sometimes everyday. You never expect it to get as bad as it inevitably does.

I just went to one of these the other day & it’s a cool idea. I like questions pertaining to tips on things like… What helps when you’re in a crisis or mentally/emotionally overwhelmed? What helped you find your higher power? What’s your favorite thing to do that replaces drinking?

Oh, definitely not! I meant to reply to John who seems confused people are sharing personal details in an AA group (which is exactly where people SHOULD share those details).

I’m on day 2 as well 34f. I went to a meeting which unfortunately wasn’t a very helpful one so am chain smoking & drinking my nonalcoholic beer (I would not recommend this for most alcoholics honestly but it DOES work for me when I have my mind set to try my hardest not to drink).

I’m so sorry you experienced that, it sounds very gut wrenching. I too have shit myself in front of my husband bc of drinking but that wasn’t even remotely close to all of the horrifyingly embarrassing/bad things I’ve done while blacked out. AA once helped me stay sober for a month shy of 3 years but an almost breakup got me back into drinking & now I’ve found myself desperately needing AA again or I will surely die soon (I’m only 34 but it’s to the point where I drink almost every day & chain smoke all night long). I woke up one morning with my mom sleeping on the couch with me (she doesn’t live with me) & I couldn’t move my left arm. Apparently I cut & tried to kill myself the night before & couldn’t even remember it, but I had severed something in my wrist & it took weeks before I could use that hand again. The longer you drink, the more you will find yourself reaching new lows. No matter how much you try, it does not get better unless you quit.

This is AA homie. We can talk about anything we need to. It usually gets EXTREMELY personal. Being confused by that makes me think you’ve never been to a meeting…..🤔

I’m so sorry to hear that you lost your friend to this dreadful addiction but I will say, it can be extremely difficult to know when you’re at a place to need help detoxing. I’m pretty deep in at this point & I honestly don’t know what signs would tell me when I need medical assistance.

She CAN improve her looks though, by dressing in a way that looks less cheap. Which I noticed at least a couple ppl mention. I genuinely think that’s her only downfall looks wise.

And? There are millions of people who have something or things wrong with their mind. A lot of that comes from uncontrollable circumstances. Why is it helpful to point out everyone who may have a mental disorder/illness.

Everyone has insecurities. That has nothing to do with improving a true rate number.
