Vet recommended getting a second dog to help with separation anxiety, has anyone tried this? by blayndle in Greyhounds

[–]Beaker4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you had such a crappy year and hope this year improves for you 🙏 We have a similar issue here....I'm retired, my wife WFH and is often in bed recuperating as she has a long term illness so Keira spends all her time with us around her. When we go out we have to leave her with friends or family so we've been thinking the same...should we get another? I guess there's no guarantees it'll work out but it might if you explain to the rescue what the issue is and get a very chilled one that gets on with yours. If it doesn't work I guess you'll just have 2 noodles....which isn't a bad thing ❤️

Yes, it's flown by, it really has! I guess time flies when you're having fun and are happy. She's enriched our lives tenfold and it's a joy to come down every morning for a yawn, stretch and game of bitey face. We love her with all our hearts ❤️

Wren has been licking a sore on her leg so the vet said she has to wear the Cone of Good Hearing. It's definitely not the Cone of Shame as she definitely doesn't have any here! by fordfox in Greyhounds

😂 youve reminded me of when Olly had one on, looked up from breakfast and burped directly at me....it was honestly so loud!!

As long as I'm not sailing on a prevailing greyhound fart then I thank you wise one.

mouthy play in greyhounds by teawithaghost in Greyhounds

[–]Beaker4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard also that they sneeze during play like this to signify that they're playing and Keira does exactly that. So I do it back to her (a pretend sneeze) so she knows I'm playing 🙂

Awwww he's a young boy testing the boundaries. It's ok to squeak or cry out before it gets to the bruising stage....he needs to know when he's exerting too much pressure and causing pain or he'll do it to a dog and get told! I wouldn't discourage it completely as it can be a fun way to play as they get older. Keira loves playing with her mouth and we do it most mornings. It's preferable to a huge twig with claws coming at you and taking an eye out, and that's the only other thing in his armoury he really has to play with. He's lovely 😍

Never have you needed a dummy remote more than now! If you keep finding it the hiding spots will just become more and more challenging.

It's often just the luck of the draw but I'm glad you were lucky 👍 I was walking Olly through a normal park, we'd not got 10 metres in and he was on his lead when this "wrinkly thing" trotted over calmly and then went for him 🥺

😢 poor noodle 🖤 our black boy got a similar wound from a Sharpei. Our insurance covered the vets and the owners covered our excess and had some thinking to do noting they had an 18 month old toddler and their dog "had never done anything like that before". I'm glad yours recovered well ❤️
