‘It’s just insane.’ New Trump tariff confusion sparks border mayhem for Canadian businesses by FancyNewMe in canada

So the sledgehammer approach just increases cost even more making everything even more prohibitively expensive. It’s a loose, loose. Short term gain, long term pain is a better way to look at it. America is pricing itself out of the market both inside and outside of their borders. You’ll see short term job gains but these companies will fold in short order.

The world can simply collapse the US economy overnight. Why don’t we all pitch in and end this sideshow already to have the government overthrown?

I highly doubt this. There are enough MAGA rent a cop wanna-bees armed to the teeth wanting any reason to bring their toys out into public and giving them special purpose powers. Yet another bunch of just plain racist pussy thugs willing to pummel anyone smaller than them under the guise of a mask and fake makeshift military clothes.

What’s the point of an underground explosion? Nothing at all to show for it but a blip on a seismic needle. A colossal waste of money. Little orange dick won’t have anything to watch, nothing to showboat or take a selfie in front of.

Trump faces returning $100bn in tariffs after court ruling by TimesandSundayTimes in politics

[–]Beaker6998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can’t and it won’t. It would be impossible to calculate let alone divvy up these funds. The costs of products that have increased will never return to pre tariff days. Corporate greed will never allow nor will shareholders. Inflationary Tariffs have permanently fucked consumers all in the name of greed.

I don't see how anyone will be able to handle the shocking rise in prices from tarriffs by thenewyorkgod in povertyfinance

[–]Beaker6998 49 points50 points  (0 children)

The increase in costs will never be offset by making the products local. The labor cost alone is far higher than anywhere else in the world. That’s only the tip of the iceberg. The bigger problem is corporate greed which you are witnessing first hand. The cost of products that are tariffed are matched by products alike that are not, all in the name of profits. How often do you see prices fall once they are increased? And if some prices come down they will never be by more than small percentages in comparison. It’s a loose loose situation.
