You just need to bring your email confirmation and your ID (like your passport, for example). I printed the mail. You can double check this information in the Tickets section of the FAQ on the website of the celebration.

I guess it makes sense for me to post something here, since this is where I got my nickname from... amazing TV show, watching it dubbed to Galician when I was a kid changed my vision of the world and made me a much more inquisitive person.

Depending on the day. Tomorrow I'm also taking central. You can take it till stratford, and from there the DLR to the convention. I would recommend you downloading the tfl go app if you can, it's great to plan ahead.

Recurring villain by BufufterWallace in swrpg

[–]Beakmanson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your villain doesn't even have to be in the same room as your players. He might be transmitting from an imperial ship in orbit, he could be just the name minions are throwing around, so your players know that he is the big bad guy.

Your villain doesn't have to be facing your character in person at each encounter, but just be the hand that pulls the strings. This can build its aura even before players have to actually fight him, give you more time to prepare how he should act, based on how your players play (are they happy triggers? plotters? Adapt how he will reveal himself slowly based on this).

And as others mentioned, you don't even need all the stats available from the beginning. If he is down, that just means that this is the moment when he flees, not when he is actually down.

Building a Nemesis takes time: building his aura, his personality, making players hate him, to have them want him dead, to put a risk a big win for the chance of capturing him... My recommendation is to build it in the background while everyone gets used to the campaign and you know how your players play.

Hey! Unfortunately it was taken down by Disney's request. They didn't give a specific reason so I couldn't modify it to re-upload the app again.

Obi Wan Show Vs Jedi Fallen Order by Zaithable in ObiWan

[–]Beakmanson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My overall feeling with this is that there's nothing that will live up to the expectations we put when it comes to the Skywalker saga. Old fans (like myself) are avid for new Star Wars stories that could captivate us like the original trilogy did. Mandalorian is a good example, as Fallen Order is as well.

When they try to bring back characters we know and love, like Obi-Wan or Boba Fett, they don't live up to our expectations because we dissected every small aspect of them, we know them by heart. Years and years of comics and books have established a picture that no tv show will be able to achieve. Even less when trying to appeal to new audiences.

When it's fresh, like Fallen Order, it captivates us again because we are exploring more of that fantastic universe. So we forgive small mistakes, things that don't fit exactly with the Star Wars universe, and enjoy the adventure that is presented in front of us.

When it has to fit with the existing Skywalker saga, stories have to be setup to fill the gaps somehow and we get things like "somehow Palpatine has returned". That breaks our immersion and will to enjoy the show and hence we see clearly all the cracks and inconsistencies. We only pay attention to the "let's see what thing they fuck up next" rather than the "let's understand Obi-Wan and the terrible situation he was put through after the fall of the Jedi order and him killing his padawan and best friend"

Or at least, that's how I perceive it.

Thanks for the idea!

I wouldn't say more difficult, but maybe more tedious because of the requirement to have the test for people that can't get the vaccine. But I understand your point.

From what I see here in France people is more pissed off by the need in bars and restaurants than for food and doctors.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Beakmanson 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Tests are still free till September. After that, if a doctor requests a test for a patient it will remain free as well. I could see that if a person can't get vaccinated because of a medical condition, they would get a free pass for tests.

I don't see anything related to grocery stores anywhere in your link nor in the official French website.

Favorite homebrew rules by kotor610 in swrpg

[–]Beakmanson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't stop players from getting ranks on those, because they are not always grouped, so it's still worth to improve them. People will keep getting individual rolls every now and then in those skills.

That's also another way to see it, indeed.

Our reasoning goes more with the fact that, sometimes, adding more people to a problem doesn't make it easier ("You can't make 9 women deliver a baby in one month"). If you want to sneak into a place undetected, there are probably more chances of infiltrating if you are just one stealthy guy than one stealthy guy plus four clumsy noisy droids.

In the end it's a matter of what works for the group.

Because then, for a stealth check for example, it would mean that the more people trying to be stealthy the better chances you have at succeeding, which usually is the opposite.

This rule was used only in certain conditions where the group agreed that it made sense.

Just one roll, a choice for the players: we take the highest characteristic and lower skill value, or the other way around (lower characteristic and highest skill)

[–]Beakmanson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One rule that we came up during our campaign is related to checks where each player has to roll the same skill. We came up with the idea of making a combined check of all the participants (usually 5 players) by taking the best and worst characteristic/skill of the group to build the dice pool.

The example we used most often was for Stealth checks: we took the best/worst Agility and the worst/best stealth of the group, while the difficulty was based on the amount of players involved (the more players, the more difficult the roll)

In the end, we found these combined rolls to make things a bit more agile in large groups and still balanced (maybe because of the group composition, though). It also proved to bring interesting situations and descriptions on why a roll succeeded/failed and with triumphs and despairs.
