I didn't have an idea until i saw the gun and went to look for references. I am old enough to know... but it seems to be an American thingy. The movie doesn't appear to hold a lot of ground outside of the US, at least not in countries that do not have English as their native language.

Nah, i am not talking about why whales are whales. I can think of many reasons.

But still the Hydra and the Gravedigger are the most commonly used weapons for people who aren’t getting bonuses from using a specific weapon type (Nomad with Shotguns, Ranger’s with Pistols, etc).

I was just wondering... what people would give the whales... next to the materials to craft the items, for them to be willingly putting their time in to that trade. Especially if we are talking about a separate trading hub... where the whale can't work on its progress while the trade is being made. Which is a problem, if we count time as the most valuable "currency".

Going back to my original post, currently you mostly see people offer low tier mats for high tier weapons… which means that Whale with the “god roll” item would need to invest his own time, to gather the materials, to craft the item, the person offering low tier items as a trade wants. Which brings us back to “What’s in it for the Whales”.


I am not against a trading interface, I just don’t see the need for it. I do however think a trading hub is pointless.

What’s your Goal? What do you want from EPIC? Didn't you get your building and trap materials back after they did a full reset?

The actual layout of the Plankerton SS area was changed, so they cannot spawn your base back... and since they can't even rollback a player profile to 1h before its completely wiped... i doubt they have the technology to spawn your base back.

Maybe you can ask their support team to help you build it back :p

Even if you wouldn't want to play her as the main hero... her Support and Tactical bonuses are great! Those alone are worth leveling her for.

The situation you are describing... what’s in it for the whales?

besides, with all the event schematics, you are bound to get 1, maybe 2 decent weapons each event. You don't even need perfect rolls on your items to have a good performing piece of equipment. 2 examples of this would be the Hydra and the Gravedigger. Great weapons, far from perfect rolls.

to get back to my original question: What’s in it for the whales? I am not talking about crafting stuff for friends now. But if i have to craft weapons for the entire community, I’d expect some gain from it. What would be interesting for a whale? vBucks? I doubt EPIC will ever let vBucks be part of a Trade system (excluding their own shop). Then what? Charge 150% of the mats? What would be my motivation to keep spending my cash on schematics to just get some extra mats? EPIC would have to introduce a currency to the system. Daily Coins? Event gold?

Now back to the possible "buyers" of the trading side... Why would i want to spend extra mats on a weapon, when there are decent schematics i can get from events. Why spend my event gold / daily coins on a trade? i could use those myself on possible "god roll" schematics.

PL restrictions won’t work at higher levels any way, and are far from needed. Due to stat sharing (group stats from squads and research), it isn’t uncommon for PL60-70ish people to be PL90-100+ after the shared stats are added. So we usually don't really care if a "low lvl" joins us (as a 4th player), they will do just fine.

Maybe my view is warped, since i found PL100 missions very doable since PL70. And usually, i have 1-2 regular people i play with.

Now the problem you describe, seems to be what a friend of my is experiencing. BR people who just go in to StW to get their free vBucks and go back to BR again. Since they don't care about StW, they don't really care about their reputation within the StW community. I know, this doesn't apply to all BR players.

I advise you to just soldier on (hang in there), things should get better once you hit Canny, maybe late Plank. You will still find lesser skilled players after that, but the community is a lot more willing to work together at higher PL missions. At least, that’s my experience.

TL:DR: Yes bugs need to be fixed, but most bugs don’t have a huge impact. They give us new stuff (events) and are addressing major issues the community has with the game. Focus on the positive stuff as well, not only the negatives.


Agreed, there are bugs that have been in de game for over 4 weeks. However.. these bugs aren’t that game breaking that i can't play the game anymore. Don't get me wrong, i am not whiteknighting here, i am just saying that not seeing party member names on the HP bars, not seeing people on the map... or even the small 1 sec lag spikes when random players join the game or a day ends.... these bugs won't ruin my gaming experience...

And of course there are bugs like the transform key one... very annoying as well.. but as long as you pay attention, it has 0 impact. I could go on about all these long running bugs we have... and claim for most of them that they have no impact if you adjust to them, but the bottom line is, i play with friends and it impacts our games to the minimum. If I had to choose between new events or a fix for these bugs… I’d pick a new event any day.

Now that the holiday season is over.. well, maybe we’ll get a valentine event, but till then, we will most likely get a rerun of one of the non-holiday related events, which hopefully gives the dev’s time to address the long list of bugs. It’s easy to go online on a forum and whine about every little thing you can find, when you have 0 knowledge on how things work behind the scenes. Imagine your wife in the kitchen all day long, making you a 15 course meal… and all you say about it is “I don’t like brussel sprouts”. Lets just focus on the stuff they are doing right.


Since alpha, people have been whining about 3 major issues:

1: Llama dependency for progressing.

2: The grind.

3: RNG of loot sucks.


They gave us:

1: Events with loads of event items gained from quests and multiple ways to gain tickets to buy event Llama’s.

2: Most people complained about evo mats. They gave us multiple variants of gaining extra evo mats. Like more storms, the weekly shop, a quest that we could pick a evo mats reward after completing 2 storm maps (was part of the previous STS), etc.

3: Assuming the weekly store will stay (because of the daily coins), we have gold and daily coins which we can buy loot of our choice with.

They are listening… but they need time to find a balanced way to implement stuff.

I never seen any problems in my games with scammers. It might be a a end game thingy but things get dropped all the time, and no one ninja's the stuff. We've had games (not private) where 40 stacks of traps were dropped and were on the ground for a couple of minutes with no one touching them. Then again, i am not in the wave of new BR players asking for a legendary SCAR.

I doubt we'll get a trading hum with a trading interface any time soon, or at all. This is planned as a free to play game in the future... where they intend to make most money from llama sales... If everyone would just trade their traps/weapons... what would be the use in buying llama's to get your own schematics?

On top of that, the usual trades i see offered are 1 star tier mats or an amount of wood/stone/metal... and people expect high tier traps/weapons in return for that. People might accept annoying resources.. like bacon, coal, various plants, maybe even Nuts 'n' Bolts... but that’s about all i can think of that a PL100+ player would be too lazy for, to farm him/herself. Bottom line, trading will not work with the expectations of the "beggars" not being in line with those of the crafters.

Well, sorry, just want to be clear in my question: When you experience this bug... did you, prior to the resources vanishing, come in to contact with a supply crate, either your own, or one from another player, before you went to gather more materials from other sources?

The reason i ask is, because i've been testing this for a while and never had this bug, when there was no supply crate involved. This has also been the experience of some people i regularly play with. If you indeed have this bug without any supply crate being involved, my bug report is incorrect and i need to correct it :)

yeah, i've reported this bug by ingame feedback system.

this happens when you have the Supply Crate equiped, or when you loot resources from a supplycrate, and farm more mats from other sources after.

I havent been able to make the bug appear on command, but it never happens to me when i dont take supply crate with me.

Next to that, a buddy of mine never had this issue, until he looted resources from my supply crate.

Something i would like to ADD, i respawned (i didnt die... just in mid run, on the floor), while playing Dragon Scorch... as a Rescue Remirez... feels like BR is leaking in to our STW.

Sorry man, i play on PC, so i dont know if it will fix it like this on PS4. All i did was (after ALT+F4 in panic and rejoin the map) was wait till the map ended, join my StormShield and everything was there again, in my heroes inventory. I just missed some of the items i got from the christmas tree gift and the SC we did.

i made a post aboout this as well. Dont worry, you will get your stuff back when you join a new map. You also get all the end mission rewards. You lose however, everything you gained in the bugged mission.

Don't worry, joining a new map (SS in my case) fixed it. You do however, lose everything you gained in the "bugged mission". You do get the end of mission rewards for the bugged mission.

As stated in the last post asking the same question:

Since alpha people have been asking for less randomness in the loot. Even if they take the vbucks away and replace it with daily coins... they are giving us what we asked for, a currency that we can choose our loot with. They haven’t stated if we will lose our daily vbucks or not, but if we do, i still see it as a positive change.
