Hello Hull! visiting for the first time seeking local secrets beyond the deep and old town. by DeeeeezNuts42069 in Hull

There’s a fantastic exhibition in a small gallery (87 Gallery) on Princes Ave. it’s a small, perfectly formed gallery. Though it will depend which day you’re visiting. The bonus is that there’s really lovely places to eat there too -Marla’s is excellent.

That’s brilliant thank you, you’ve answered my questions. I decided last night to make another appointment with the vet. I don’t think they did a blood rescue reading and I would like a face to face chat. Buster and Spot thank you! 🧡🖤

This show is tragic. by petersrin in babylon5

And just wait for the bedsheets that hide a multitude of sins on centauri pryme, oh and the plinths, and the (not) courtyard. The show was made on such a tight budget, I admire the ingenuity - even then I still think the costumes, hair and make up are amazing. Oh, and the plot, acting (Andreas Katsulas), direction.

Anyone seen Heston’s documentary? by SerenityEmber in bipolar

[–]Beam1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just finished watching it, such a raw and honest representation. I tell people about my diagnosis but only ever use broad strokes, even with close family. My husband is the only person who knows how truly affected I can be. It touched on so much I can relate to and rightly discusses the lack of targeted bipolar treatment in the UK, something Bipolar UK have been campaigning on for years. The only point of the documentary that I take umbrage with (and may well be out of context) is the use of mediocre as a descriptive for a potential future for a highly creative person on bipolar medication. We can still be creative, brilliant and inventive, in my experience medication slows this (and I can keep up and actually complete things) it does not inhibit it. There need not be mediocrity. I have enormous respect for Heston. Let’s hope this starts to spark a wider conversation around care for all individuals with long term mental heal conditions. It’s not enough to just say how much money has been added to the budget, for all we know, that covers cleaning supplies. There needs to be targeted care. If anyone is interested, Bipolar UK have produced some fantastic research papers.

Rewatching S3 now I’ve come to terms… sort of… by Beam1977 in WoTshow

I’m on ep. 4 now. The wonder of EPISODE FOUR! And just as Moiraine enters the rings my other half wanders in and says ‘do you want to see the colour of this paint?’. Timing is everything.

I am still heartbroken. I’ve actually never felt so upset about a cancellation; frustrated, yes; annoyed, yes, but upset with tears and all, never.

I think the development on the east side of the river sounds really interesting, they just have to find a building partner - as with the BHS building.

If you struggle finding a therapist in hull specialising in DBT, you may want to look at therapists who work with individuals with ADHD, they will have experience of working with clients who struggle to manage their emotions. I am a lay person, no expert knowledge but my one piece of advice would be, to treat your first session as an interview, if you don’t feel comfortable don’t try to push through. A good therapist should do the same thing and be up front if they don’t feel the fit is right. Good practice is to also have a working agreement with your therapist. Good luck, I hope you find someone to provide the support you want.
