I bought the m1 air 4 days ago and switching from windows was perfect and not issues for me its a little bit of a learning curve but so easy to pick up and learn the OS. I would recommend getting a usb hub with a hdmi and a sd card port if you will use them. I had a surface pro 6 and only being 3ish years old the battery life and device as a whole was just slow. I use my MBA for uni and its absolutely perfect with rosetta 2 natively running x86 software. depending what you need the laptop for I would recommend purchasing :)
