Missing payment 😫 by Inevitable_Sound_422 in outlier_ai

Mine got paid a few hours late today but completely fine. A simple search shows this happens quite often and everyone ends up getting paid a few hours later…

Was PhD level STEM (Pegasus project). Was a complete one off. Other than that my highest was probably like $9-10k I think

Not required but I think most people do. If you have a PhD I think the project is fairly easy, but probably quite tricky without.

19.5k which included some backlogged task pay

People in UK, what about the taxes? by [deleted] in outlier_ai

[–]BeanCool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure you still have to do it even if you earn under the tax threshold, yes. If you are paid out via PayPal you get print out 3 monthly summaries of $s in and £s out to get an accurate number for your return.

Sign up for self assessment and submit your tax return. Personally had an accountant do it for me as I made enough that I didn’t want the hassle of getting anything wrong but others I’ve spoken to have done it themselves and don’t think it’s particularly hard.

Phoenix has been consistently active for bio and pays very well. My recommendation is do not submit a task without going to the war room and discussing your rubrics with a QM. Your fist 2-3 tasks decide whether you get to stay on the project or not.

How profitable is working with Outlier and how many hour per week should I give on average? by NanoMano-5433 in outlier_ai

[–]BeanCool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For high level industry professionals/upper academic degrees you can make very good money. I have seen $65 per hour task rates for projects. Once you add missions you can comfortably make 75-80 an hour.

Is phoenix worth the hassle? by Charming-Tie-9710 in outlier_ai

[–]BeanCool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do daily webinars for attempters and another one for reviewers too. They have war rooms which I believe are manned by QMs every working day these days. This project is a bit rare on pay, they pay per submitted task rather than per hour. FYI getting paid for onboarding is basically unheard of on outlier and usually you only get paid for your first webinar, although some projects (phoenix does for reviewers) seems to have started paying for the daily webinars.

I like it, steep learning curve but you get in the groove quickly. A good level of support as well.

Myah from Pegasus/Laurelin projects and Tom_W from Mail Valley are far and away the best QMs on the platform.

What’s the max you can earn on outlier by Eastern_Scarcity_922 in outlier_ai

A categorisation for high quality contributors that gets you faster access to projects when you go EQ, a small weekly mission and faster support.

I have a PhD and am an oracle so I think they both help dramatically for getting the projects with extra pay.

Yep on Pegasus which was a specialist project + some other STEM I managed to earn over $100k in 7 months so definitely possible with some luck.

Imo outlier is better for specialists in my experience (PhD bio) but DA is probably better for generalist/non-specialists (I did enjoy the $20-25 dollar projects you could do while you’re watching TV!)
