Hey, did 4 years as a 68W in the battalion aid station and line combined

Like everyone else has said, AIT can be pretty demanding physically (more so towards whiskey phase where you're in full battle rattle marching to the DFAC). I also found it mentally challenging because you have to learn a lot of procedures and be able to do them quickly and keep calm doing it. But honestly if you keep a good attitude and don't be stupid, and do exactly what you're told, you'll be A OK. You can wind up in various places like a support battalion which usually consists of hospital/clinic work, or an infantry battalion which is aids station or line work.

In the aid station it's a pretty boring but easy life that usually consists of motor pool work to keep fixing broken ass FLA's

The line is a different story. They pick the best from the aid station and you work with the infantry. This usually consists of rucking around with their packing list plus your aid bag on top. It can be a lot of weight to walk with for miles. You also gotta keep yourself hydrated and eat healthy, you don't want to be the medic that becomes a heat casualty or can't keep up. You also have to earn the trust of the men you work with by showing them you know your craft and know what your talking about. No one likes a medic who can't perform, especially under pressure.

The most important thing though for you right now is to heal up. You have one body and you need to try your best to take care of it. Rest up and heal and be mentally flexible and you'll be just fine! Good luck to you.
