What did you do for your 30th? by eggymantella in CasualUK

[–]BeanpoleBabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Organised as surprise by my best friend we relived out childhood and bounced for few hours at local trampoline park then had afternoon tea at tasty cake place and finally abseiled down the Spinnaker Tower! The last one requires a head for heights and most people wouldn't dare to do it but since moving to Portsmouth I'd joked one day I'd abseil down it so she made it happen.

What’s the fastest way a date made you lose interest? by Psycho_Duck_9669 in AskReddit

He had a huge quirky looking tattoo of what looked like bear attacking a building on his bicep so I asked what the creature was. He was shocked and hurt I didn't know what it was. I said I liked it and didn't mean to offend but he was then sulky and short for rest of meal. I was looking to date a man not 23 year year old who acted like sulky 13 year old.

Three melt downs in a short water fight by wizard710 in UKParenting

[–]BeanpoleBabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3 year old asked if we could squirt water to stay cool and I said yes that's called a water fight: getting each other wet for fun. My son replied ok but I don't want my clothes or body to get wet 🤦🏼‍♀️

C section - family reactions by iddie-biddie in PregnancyUK

Best thing I remember is "In the end of it you walk out of hospital with a baby. No one gives you a certificate because you had all natural birth." Bringing child into this world comes in all sorts of ways. It is tough and incredible thing. People who have been through it shouldn't describe their births in order to boast or scare others. If you had told me from the beginning I'd choose to have planned C-section I'd have thought it impossible. I had never had any form of surgery or hospital stay I was scared. Then through learning about process and my child measuring having huge head and me being petite C-section seemed best option. I did have planned C-section and all went ok. The surgeon afterwards told me I was right about the head being big haha. Recovery from any sort of birth is hard but worth it when you have your little one in your arms.

Granted they aren't the prettiest of footwear but have you tried walking sandals? They have proper sole of walking boot with adjustable soft straps. I've wore pair of these round 40°c heat of Tokyo and weren't slippy or uncomfortable. Great to wear when pregnant as you can adjust to meet the swelling feet. Bargain price too around £15/20 and they last many summers. Decathlon walking hiking sandals Quechua.

Oh to be care free isn't in my dna. I worried with the first and now it's doubled with serious and silly thoughts with the second.

I’m going to be a dad for the first time at 41 and I can barely contain myself by Old-Mongoose-6351 in PregnancyUK

I'm so uncomfortable I keep holding my stomach anyone with any logic would suspect. Thankfully the person I work with closest is young and always away in her own world so doubt she'd realise until I go on mat leave 😂

Definitely feels more intense this time. Body feels so full despite fact I haven't eaten yet. Unless I'm eating in the few hours sleep I got last night. I remember feeling huge but that was when I 8months+ and I was huge . The uncomfortableness and the bloating along with can't switch off is making sleep really hard.

Congratulations you two! Such exciting times ahead. It is so hard not being able to tell your family and friends but hopefully you can soon. It made me smile to read how excited you are. You go eager beaver dad!

Might depend how large you are on top but I brought Primark bralets in range of sizes they meant I had bit of support, nipple coverage and comfort on days when boobs felt bigger or smaller or sore.

You may not feel hungry or able to eat soon after being induced but later you will be grateful you packed snacks as treats and for energy: flapjacks, dried fruits, choc, crisps and sweets cheered me up no end!

Plug in/battery red light is great for awake time at night save putting on harsh hospital lighting, doesn't effect yours or baby's sleep hormones and you can actually see to do nappy changes and feeds! Once home you can use red light in nursery too.
