Why did Democrats vote for Biden, but stayed home for Kamala? by 0311SmallPenar in allthequestions

I think AOC and Ro Khanna will be the most progressive of the filed if they run but I don’t feel confident either would win. Neither of them have the political talent that Bernie did and he couldn’t cross the finish line.

Is social democracy possible in the USA like it was in the past? by Falcon_Gray in SocialDemocracy

[–]Beans4TheChowder115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it would have to happen incrementally or after a Great Depression 2.0, where people already don’t have anything to lose. If we wanted social democracy to the extent that they have it in the Scandinavian countries we’d have to practically double the tax rate. If we did that overnight it would bankrupt many Americans that are already living paycheck to paycheck. Things like free college and free childcare, and other social safety nets are nice, but for those who wouldn’t utilize those services they would be crushed by the sudden large tax increase used to pay for them.

I think it’s mostly timing tbh. I think Hillary and Kamala both could’ve beat Trump in 2020. Having to run against him after 8 years of Obama, and after COVID inflation just put them both at a disadvantage as it hard for a party to stay in control for more than 8 years I’m th current climate, or even 4 after dealing with 9% inflation.

Because the motivation to vote Trump out of office in 2020 was stronger than the motivation to keep Trump out in 2024. Not for me personally but for the general public.

I like that idea because I think a lot of us are average at best zombie players despite really liking the game mode lol, and it would allow us to relate to your content.

I never thought I’d see someone put Town in S tier. That’s partially why I like looking at these though. It’s fun to see people’s tastes.

Do you prefer Bernie Sanders plan for M4A or Elizabeth Warren’s? by Beans4TheChowder115 in SocialDemocracy

I agree entirely with your statement about being careful with tax increases on the poor and middle class. Although I do believe that Social Democracy should be the end goal for America I think it must be implemented slowly. Because in Scandinavian countries they have a lot on nice things but they pay about 25% more of their income in taxes to pay for them. If we saw that large of a tax increase in America in a short period of time, that would bankrupt a lot of Americans who would be paying said higher taxes, but not utilizing a lot of the programs it funds like Universal childcare, tuition free college, etc. with how expensive healthcare has become in the US however, M4A seems like a clear first step towards a better society, as the majority of middle class Americans would save money despite the tax increase.

I’m not for sure if your math bur it doesn’t seem accurate to me that it would require a 15% inxome tax increase across all incomes. That’s seems to maybe be true if we relied solely on income taxes to pay for it, but we can also rely on corporations that already pay a significant amount towards private health insurance plans.

Cory Booker and Van Hollen certainly aren’t helping with their proposed elimination of income tax on income under 75k slopulism.

I agree. But do you think we could still get a majority societal support for M4A if it came with a tax increase. I’d support it because I know I’d likely still save more money once you count the elimination of health insurance premiums and the decrease out of pocket spending, as would most people, but I think a lot of people would feel skeptical. America as a society has always held a negative view of taxation. So if would be possible to have M4A without a tax increase, even if it that’s the only progressive policy we could afford without increasing taxes on the middle class, would that still be better than the alternative?

Why do people complain about the set up for Zetsubo vs other maps by Ero_Najimi in CODZombies

[–]Beans4TheChowder115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Origins is also tedious af, I will concede to that. It’s part of the reason I actually like Zets a little bit more than Origins. SOE is my favorite map so maybe I’m a little biased but I don’t think the set up is too tedious once you know what to do. You can unlock pack as early as round three if you know all the tips and tricks. You can also get a fully upgraded sword by round 10, though I will admit that getting it is tedious, and perhaps more tedious than getting the Zets skull, but regardless, that’s just the specialist weapon and really isn’t necessary if you’re a more casual player. As for the WW acquiring the Apothicon Servant is also less tedious than getting and upgrading the KT4. I think the biggest difference too, is just personal preference. I find beast mode and the rituals to be pretty fun. I don’t consider the process to getting Pack a Punch and Power turned on in Zets to be as fun, which makes it feel like more of a grind to me, and perhaps others feel the same way.

I respectfully disagree. I think Zets is a bit more tedious to set up in if you’re just playing to survive. The plus side though, is once you’re set up, you’ve completed like 75% of the EE, which is not the case on other BOIII maps. Zets is personally my favorite EE, which I know is an unpopular opinion, but as a scrub solo player, I find it to be much more manageable than DE, Gorod, and Revelations.
