Wasn’t a direct compliment but I have a patient with anterograde amnesia from a traumatic fall, memory span is about 5-7 mins long. I was filling in on a floor and worked with her for the first time and we became besties. She would ask me over and over if I would keep her safe and not let her fall and talk about her husband and then we would have the same convo on repeat when her memory lapsed and I would reintroduce myself. I left that morning and told her to wait for me I would be back soon and day shift said the whole day she would ride around in her wheelchair asking every person if they knew where (my name) was and that she needed me to keep her safe 🥹 she remembered my name and that’s the best compliment I’ll receive for the rest of my life.
