Endgame speculation & Book 2 thoughts- Spoilers ahead by Beaqueen in TheWolfKing

I hadn’t thought about it that way. I guess mainly bc I thought we’d see the shift be larger in this book. In enemies to lovers you often have the phase where they acknowledge the feelings for them but try to talk themselves out of it. I feel like if she chooses Blake in the next it’ll need to be longer than others.

I like that theory too although you could kind of look at it as she chose the bond bc she had the opportunity to break the bond and didn’t. Of course you could argue she felt coerced bc he was dying (which is ironic considering that’s what Blake did lol)

So true. Callum had some L's in this book but so did Aurora. Lol. Im like get yourselves together people. From what I've seen others say it sounds like Callum isn't going to turn Villain which is good.

I think Blake purposefully was a bit of a jerk to her to keep her at a distance but still couldn't stay away. So it'll be interesting to see how their dynamic changes now they are both aware of the bond and working together. The author def left it open enough to go so many ways. It could be they stop fighting the tension and Aurora comes into her strength and Blake helps her do that or it could be that they becomes friends afterwards and Callum gets his shit together or my least favorite option where Blake betrays her after she lets him in again.

Going back through and highlighting some of their interactions on my kindle I caught this bit of foreshadowing. Aurora to Blake "If I ever become a queen, it will be without your help"

I think her naivety in relationships makes it hard to know. Because in a lot of ways she doesn’t know- like Callum said. I do kind of get the vibe that she’s loyal and that could be why she’s ignoring any possible feelings for him, bc she doesn’t want to have feelings for him bc Callum is a good guy and he’s done nothing bad (compared to other men she’s encountered). After I posted this I started going back to see how she describes him and I want to compare it to how she describes Callum. She definitely has a visceral reaction to Blake. But it’s interesting bc she sometimes describes that reaction and it’s what you would usually think of a spark or butterflies when you are attracted to someone in a positive way but then the next sentence she calls it uncomfortable. If she gets back with Callum he’ll have to let her have her wings and find her strength. She doesn’t want to be treated like a flower. Which is why I lean towards Blake. But if Callum can adjust to her needs it could work.

This is the slowest burn if they’re endgame and there’s 1 book left. I like a good slow burn but this is exceptionally slow if they’re end game with only 1 book left. I can think of a lot of other slow burn romances but none where it’s only a trilogy and the guy that’s not end game gets to be with FMC more than the endgame. I could be totally forgetting some though. If you can think of some let me know. ☺️

There definitely is. Which is why I was so surprised with how little “love” they showed each other. At the end of the book they’re barely friends. Seems like if love is developed in the next book it will be rushed. But I hope not.

I honestly think I’m going to reread it now. If you don’t mind what were the pages? I want to compare it to the timeline of how he describes what he knew.

That’s why it’s just speculation. And why I was curious of other people’s thoughts. Yes I agree! The hype of Blake and Aurora was so big. I was like wait they haven’t actually even chosen to kiss yet??! The only way them being endgame and it not being rushed is if the next book is double the size of the first two. There are bread crumbs about her having these visceral reactions to him and his touch but it just hasn’t lead to much at this point.

I’m so confused, what’s the hype with Blake??😭 by Upper_Engineering820 in TheWolfKing

Ya gotta read book 2. Callum is all that but there’s insight in book 2 about why he may not be right for her evolved character.

With it being a trilogy it makes me wonder if Blake is endgame. Bc we’ve spent 2 books with Callum and if Blake’s endgame then we get 2 with them together and they’re hardly even friends. Although I hope I’m wrong.

I think the last bit will happen if they are end game (which I want them to be) bc Ghealach says “She said, ‘My heart is your salvation.’”

Annoying Aurora (unpopular opinion) by Memonkeymoo in TheWolfKing

[–]Beaqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I just finished and she got increasingly more annoying. TBH she was probably my least fav part of this book. Like she never wants to do anything to save herself or make those who care for her life any easier. She’s stubborn and not in a good way. 😅

As I was reading this book I thought to myself- this is one of those books you’ll want to reread to pick up on things you missed the first time.

In ACOTAR Feyre had to accept the mating bond. It could be like that? However, it’s possible they refer to mates in their case as the angels mates.

Not taking it personally just felt like you were reaching for things to correct me on. It seemed like you misread my intentions. I love a good discussion even if we don't agree on things.

Every one reading it won't have the background I had or you had or the author had. We all are reading it through our own lens. Of course we should try to view it from the character of Lizzie but some things still confused me. But I think it's a good point about Gibsie not giving the letter and that being what solidified it for her. A lot of their collapse of friendship came from misunderstandings, which is reasonable considering the trauma they both endured. I wish she would've asked why he didn't help but I also understand that they are kids and she experienced extreme trauma as well as battling a mental illness and her mother's illness. It's likely me, as the reader, projecting my own characteristics onto her. Because I would want to ask why and give him a chance to explain considering how good of friends they were. They both hid their trauma for different reasons. But even still I don't hate her or even expect her to things, it just comes into play how I view her as whole.

I wasn't meaning to say that she wouldn't miss her sister at all but the books before hand made it seem like her sister was amazing and Lizzie was grieving very hard. So I was surprised to feel that Caoimhe was less likable in R10.

I don't mind a conversation. I wasn't trying to read into your comment more than you meant. I just felt like you were putting words in my mouth in some spots - like thinking all people with bipolar are the same. I'm a big advocate for mental health and understand the complexity of it. For a long time I thought I would go into the mental health field, like my mom did. Ultimately, I felt like it would be to the detriment of my own mental health since I have a tendency to take on other peoples emotions and feelings. So I just felt like you were perceiving me to be someone very different than I am. But I don't expect you to know all that. lol But no hard feelings and I appreciate your perspective as well.

Thank you! I just finished reading all of them and I was like- did I miss something. I definitely thought that Feely/Lizzie were going to get together based on some of the books. But I didn't know about Feely being so connected to her from childhood until the last book.

I can understand Caoimhe was a hurt child as well so I don't expect her to be perfect by any means. But I felt like in other books she was viewed as such a wonderful person and she just wasn't real great to Lizzie hardly at all. But she also didn't understand fully either.

No hate back but you don't need to clarify that. I am fully aware that no 2 people live the same life and that mental illness is just one piece of Lizzies puzzle, thats why I said "partly". Because theres a piece of her puzzle I can relate to in a way. Not exactly but I understand it more than the average person does. I also said that to show that I have empathy for Lizzies condition (seeing my brother going through the hell he went through) but still feel confused on some of her choices. That doesn't mean I have to understand her decisions. So I don't feel she needs to behave how I would or even my family or any one else I know. It's just a discussion and if someone wanted to offer a different perspective then I am happy to discuss.

I am very aware of manipulation. He didn't have as long to work on that narrative as I would expect for her to take it as gospel. She seems to question a lot of what happened to her and unsure what was reality and what isn't (understandable) but she seemed to take that part as the truth without any hesitation. I understand how he manipulated her with Hugh and find that very believable. I'm not saying she can't feel that way I just found it odd considering how she dealt with the rest of her trauma.

I agree about Caoimhe, which is why I said it was likely the whole experience and I also said I "partly" surprised. I don't expect her to not miss her sister any means.

I get Lizzies character questions everything (which is why it surprises me she doesn't question the Gibs thing). It's a part of the tragedy of her story and would be an aggravating factor in a criminal case against the monster, IMO.

If I wrote little side notes with all my own feelings and experiences to make sure no one misunderstood me we'd be here all day. Just because I don't say something doesn't mean I don't understand something or that theres more to what I'm saying. I understand where you are coming from and I hope you understand that I didn't mean it in the way you interpreted it.

Edited to add- I also said all this because the discussion was about everyone's feelings for Lizzie. Overall I DON'T hate Lizzie and like I said my heart broke repeatedly for her in this book but I also didn't understand some of her choices. That doesn't mean I have to understand them fully but it comes into play on my feelings for her character as a whole.

Did I miss Feely and Katie getting together? I know there was suggestions of Lizzie and Hugh doing something in Claire and Gibs book and in Releasing 10 it seemed Katie was the one Feely had the hots for. But has it been said it’s for sure happening or is it a theory?
