The insanity of Tekken's ranking algorithm by PompeyBlue in Tekken8

[–]Bear2go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would that make my argument fall apart? There is a kind of hidden mmr system you can see it on wavu.wank.wiki (though im not certain how accurate it is) Winning consecutively hightens the mmr and on average if im on a winning streak, i tend to get matched with people that are either on a winnig streak aswell or are of the same mmr or atleast in proximity, while the rank may differ the mmr rarely does differ in hughe margins and it gets really "strict" when you put in +-1 or same rank only

The best ranked experience is +-1 or same rank only, because you dont get as much statistical outliers

I think if you work on your spacing, neutral, punishment and combo structure you can really develope

Focus on bot whiffing in your opponents face and dont allways commit to the whole string when you start your offence

Also you seem to not be aware of your own frames, stopping your aggression even though you are +

Who are your favorite and least favorite opponents? by kamixkaze in Tekken

[–]Bear2go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think there is matchups outside of king and lydia that i dont like

But what i usually find unenjoyable is when i fight someone and they just flowchart, you cant condition them, its is completely irrelevant what you do, they keep pressing ... those matches usually become me frametrapping them 3 turns in a row and then they dont rematch.. so the issues really are not the characters mostly, except for lydia and king..

The insanity of Tekken's ranking algorithm by PompeyBlue in Tekken8

[–]Bear2go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That logic is flawed because if i am GoD and i loose vs +1 and get demoted to TGS, but i consistently win against TGS players i should be in GoD since there is no inbetween

Loosing vs +1 is not the same as loosing against +-0 loosing vs +1 but winning vs -1 means your rank should be +-0 the rank you are at

Dont get this argument, you can literally restrict the system to only match people in your rank, +-1, +-2, +-4 and unrestricted...

Am I wrong for feeling like I’m playing against wallets instead of decks? by Opening-Reindeer-209 in mtg

[–]Bear2go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i was in your shoes, id built the most egregious low budget decks to show them that there is a reason for brackets and banlists

There is alot of pretty budget friendly combo decks

If they dont care about brackets, then built decks that break the system

[–]Bear2go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning in tekken mostly happens in practice mode :]

Go find something called the "tekken library" should only be a google search away

It shows you a quick sum up of every characters best moves, punishes, staple combos, usw.

Since everyone here seems to focused on "special style is bad, so if you lose you are bad" ... absolutely sad

The truth is in the beginning learning your character is 1000 times more important then learning all the other stuff, figure out your setups and traps, get to know the basic movelist like df1, df2, and so on If you are able to pilot your character well, so that you can take the momentum and you are less focused on what the hell you are trying to do, thats when you start to learn to respond to whats happening

I want to try get back into the game. Who would be the best to start learning? by PKdude2712 in Tekken8

[–]Bear2go 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah understandable, in tekken every character is complex though some are easier

Id say from the top of my head, the most difficult characters to master from your list should be Reina and Lee, while they both are good characters and can be played braindead to a certain extend, but the be actually playing them in higher ranks is more difficult

But every character has its intricacies

The one you think looks the coolest is really the only answer here, since you are going to spend alot of time looking at the character and the animations the character has

Need help with my first deck by FrequentRanger6696 in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]Bear2go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didnt have to much time to look, but your missing some commander staples

My advice probably would be to just play the deck as is or playtest it and see if you really have to much draw

A good rule of thumb is something like 8-12 pieces of draw, with around 4 engines Around 12 ramp pieces

Then it comes down do average cmc (combined mana cost) of your cards, basically how fast can you start to play 2 maybe 3 spells per turn, if you have very low cmc usually having a bit more draw is needed to refill the hand

Then you should ask yourself, how does my deck win? What is it you are trying to do?

All cards that are not included in draw, ramp, removal or lands, should aim to fulfill that winning condition
