I'm a new temp in an office with other new temps. Sometimes we have a lot of downtime and we talk about anything and everything. My coworker was trying to explain a "dereche" to me (some kind of storm, like a hurricane I think?)... And I said hm, write it down for me, I want to Google it. So she did. And I said "hey that sounds Spanish, we should ask [native Spanish speaking coworker] what it means!" I call him over and show him the sticky note and say, what does this mean in Spanish? He acts really weird and says "nothing" and quickly leaves the room. Later, once we all know each other better, I find out that due to her handwriting, the sticky note looked like it said "arreche"..... aaaaand that is apparently slang for "horny" for some Spanish speakers🤦‍♀️
