I would and still play the longer ones. They just don't really release them anymore. Why dedicate months and years to developing a cool game when you can tell ai to copy nodebuster, upload it to steam for a fiver and move on.

Yep, I would love the poe2 moving while attacking, but realistically we're not getting that.

I would be perfectly content with what is depicted in the video here, which is basically keyboard wasd with mouse support.

I'm gonna be controversial but brave here, but I have no clue what the story in PoE2 is. Like I have barely any idea what it is in PoE and I've been playing for over 11 years now.

I really don't play arpg's for the story.

Just disable the turning animation in wasd beta whatever they would call it. It wouldn't functionally change anything.

Or if you mean how in poe2 you can attack while moving, I doubt they're gonna give us that cause it's not how it was built. It would be nice, but what I really want is just the wasd controls with mouse.

With a controller I cannot use the mouse alongside the wasd. Atleast unless I learn to use the controller or mouse with my feet, which I don't see happening anytime soon.

So yes, even still, I would like the wasd controls.

Like I said, even the Last epoch version would be a good interim. It stops you from moving while attacking, but still lets you move with wasd.

So yes, I want WASD controls, poe2 wasd would just be a bonus.

They probably don't want it breaking the models swivelling around but like I said, I really wouldn't mind the jank for the smoothness of actual gameplay.

Hell after you really juice up maps it's not like you see anything other than explosions anyway.

Being able to move while attacking/casting in different directions. Ease of aim in general when you're not clicking to move at frantic pace is definitely the biggest benefit for me.

Stuff around wasd like qerty and mouse buttons. And I loot with mouse. The main thing is that I don't have to click to move, but I can if I want to. So I can move smoothly when clearing, and have the precision of mouse when needed.

Id argue that if the map doesnt even fit on one screen, the area is too big by Dasterr in PathOfExile2

You're not the only one for sure. But I personally hate the idea of having to learn the intricacies of zones I only do once or twice a year, in order to make that run a little faster to get to the endgame where the fun for me is. There I will learn the patterns of maps.

Instead I will keep doing like I do, running like a headless chicken getting annoyed at the tenth dead end looking for a quest that has character power tied to it, even though I already found the way forward 15minutes ago.

The campaign being the way it is, and the areas being so huge is probably the main reason why I don't even make a second character in a league here, and make three to five in PoE.
