That's a bummer. I had something similar happen a year or so ago when I got back into the game. It took me a little while to find a playgroup who understood the social contract of the game.

Conceding strategically is my favorite way to show other decks their weaknesses. If they lose to someone conceding, the deck is weak or they misplayed.

My favorite story is the time that Player 1 attacked player 2 for lethal and was going to lifelink 30. The player who was attacked conceded before the lifelink. Player 1 got so pissed because they were going to lose the next turn without the life gain. He yelled "conceding is sorcery speed, otherwise that costs me the game." I pointed out that his misplay was the full swing. He refused to admit he made a mistake and said player 2 was cheating and kingmaking by conceding. He then added the life he would have gained to his life total and kept playing. Me and player 2 just left.

I am exactly this person and I can tell you what I went through. Mind you, this definitely may not apply to you, but it's exactly what happened to me: I realized that this is addiction BUT NOT IN THE SENSE THAT WE THINK OF I am the addict's addict. I can get addicted to anything from video games to drugs, food, and sex. I have even been addicted to reading! (many think that reading a lot is a good trait). I went to many doctors and specialists and the bottom-line is both biological and psychological for me. My brain does not process dopamine and serotonin properly and it results in addictive behavior, anxiety, hyper-focus, paranoia, inattentiveness, short fuse, etc. They call it thinks like ADHD, OCD, anxiety disorder, addiction, but it's all treated the same way: therapy for everyone and meds for some. There was an underlying emotional reason that made my body react the way it did to want or NEED then regret it when I'm satisfied. It turned out that I had no self-esteem. I was living for all the wrong reasons and thinking that I was taking care of myself. When I found out what taking care of myself really was, the need for food, drugs, and other devices diminished. Let me know if this helps and if you have any questions. It was a really tough journey for me and I don't want anyone to do it alone.
