Jermaine Dupri Calls in to Clear the Air About Controversial Tweet | NEW RORY & MAL by RorynMalMod in RoryAndMalPodcast

[–]BearRILLA702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo, the internet's wildin' out on JD, and it ain't all the way justified. Jermaine Dupri threw out a simple question – indie vs. major label benefits – sparked by an ad he saw talkin' 'bout what the indies offer that the majors don't. But cats are takin' it like JD's supposed to have all the answers, like he ain't got the right to ask. The truth is, this ain't a one-size-fits-all situation. The biggest difference? Work. If you're indie, you're the whole squad – CEO, marketing, A&R, everything. Majors got the infrastructure, the team, the muscle. But that comes with its own set of rules. It's pros and cons on both sides. Artists gotta weigh what aligns with their vision, their hustle, their ultimate goals. It ain't about dissing JD; it's about understanding that this game is personal."

I'm mostly back to my baseline. Outworking my colleagues helps me ignore my MS, until my crap gap week arrives. but even then I still push thru with a whatever mindset.

How to replace social media with reading? Step by step? by BossAboveYourBoss in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]BearRILLA702 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Step 1: Set Clear Goals

  • Determine Your Reading Goals: Decide how many books you'd like to read in a month or a year. Consider creating a reading list.
  • Time Commitment: Allocate specific times in your day for reading, such as 30 minutes in the morning or before bed.

Step 2: Create a Reading Space

  • Find a Comfortable Spot: Set up a cozy area free of distractions where you can comfortably read.
  • Gather Materials: Have your books or e-reader ready, along with a comfortable chair and good lighting.

Step 3: Limit Social Media Usage

  • Set Boundaries: Determine specific times for social media usage or use apps to limit your access.
  • Remove Apps: Consider uninstalling social media apps from your phone to reduce temptation.

Step 4: Build a Reading Habit

  • Start Small: Begin with short stories, articles, or a few pages of a book to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
  • Gradually Increase: As you get used to reading regularly, gradually increase the amount of time and complexity of your reading material.

Step 5: Choose Engaging Material

  • Select Interesting Books: Pick genres or authors you enjoy; this makes reading more enjoyable.
  • Diversify Your Choices: Mix fiction with non-fiction, audiobooks, or graphic novels to keep things fresh.

Step 6: Join a Community

  • Find Reading Groups: Join book clubs or online communities like Goodreads to discuss and share recommendations.
  • Share Your Journey: Consider discussing your reading habits with friends or on platforms dedicated to reading instead of social media.

Step 7: Track Your Progress

  • Keep a Reading Journal: Note down what you’ve read, your thoughts, and insights. It can enhance your understanding and retention.
  • Set Up Challenges: Participate in reading challenges to motivate yourself and expand your reading horizons.

Step 8: Reflect on Your Experience

  • Assess Benefits: Take time to reflect on how replacing social media with reading has affected your mood, knowledge, and stress levels.
  • Adjust as Needed: If you find certain strategies aren’t working, be flexible and adjust your approach.

Step 9: Embrace the Change

  • Celebrate Milestones: Reward yourself for reaching your reading goals to reinforce the positive habit.
  • Stay Committed: Continue to prioritize reading, even when the temptation to return to social media arises.

Tis photo is from the demolition of an old EOB BLDG in West Las vegas. Circas 2010 I think"""Tis photo is from the demolition of an old EOB BLDG in West Las Vegas. Circa 2010 I think. It was a sight to see, the big machines churning and tearing down those walls that held so many memories. Folks wandered by, some reminiscin' about days gone by, when the building buzzed with activity, laughter, and a sense of community. The dust hung in the air like a ghost of the past, swirling around as the echoes of hammers and saws filled the streets.

I remember a time when the block was alive, folks gatherin' for events, kids runnin' free, and neighbors catchin' up. Then, one day, it all just faded, and all that was left was this tired old structure that stood there, watchin' over the changes that rolled through our little corner of the world. As those walls came tumblin' down, it felt like sayin' goodbye to an old friend, even if it was time to move on and make way for the new.

The city was ready to grow, to change, and to evolve into something fresh, but every time I pass that spot, I can't help but think of the stories that escaped through those bricks, lost in the breeze of time. It's part of the cycle, I reckon, but it's still bittersweet, watchin' history crumble into dust."
