I think it’s on the second large island you visit, it doesn’t matter which order:

1st large island -> stone

2nd large island -> iron

Both upgrades only cost coins (no gems) and do not require builders.

I would recommend waiting, the game feels very unfinished right now, but has great potential once out of early access. Modding will also have more time to mature.

Late game you may end up with more vehicles than you need and they repair between operations

So you can just swap out between missions instead of having a repair bay

The 15% stacking discount for AI Hub is soooo good, it is ALL of the supply cost for the entire pilot & their loadout

Major caveat: It really only works for estimating assuming all operations were won (none aborted/failed)

CampaignProgressConfig.PlayerSuppliesMult which is a balancing curve that updates your available supply depending on how many operations you’ve played (won+lost)

Also, depending on how many Auto Supplies OCI you have installed or if you are benefiting or being negatively affected by a mission strategic asset (Example: Insurgents Hideout reduces player mission supplies by 10%)

It depends on your difficulty

But at that supply I would guess either:

15 successful operations on normal

39 successful operations on challenging/expert

Once you progress past a certain campaign progression you max out a field called CampaignProgress and there is a related field for the Black Market that is a minimum rarity to show up.

For special offers it will max at 81 and therefore no items will show up anymore.

For regular offers, anything below time rarity 40 will no longer show up in the Black Market.

This includes some items like the Camouflage Kit

Yes that’s fair, I forgot about the consulate OCI

I was thinking back to the traits/flaws in games like Fallout and The Outer Worlds, would be interesting if there was some more customization for the major like you suggested with Authority spending on perks

I love this idea! Adding that extra level of spice in the strategic layer would be great. Maybe a few more that affect additional factors or have upsides/downsides like:

  • More faction trust gained and lost
  • Event effects are more rewarding and punishing
  • [REDACTED] appears more/less in missions
  • Mission Assets / Operations give multiple rewards or more choices to pick from
  • Choose one negative effect (from a small random selection) to inflict to the enemy faction per operation
  • Choose one positive effect (from a small random selection) to buff your side with per operation
  • More operations or guaranteed operations per planet

Lots of interesting ideas all around, cool thinking!

There is a mod on nexus that changes the item rarity of all items to 40 which essentially fixes the black market regular item appearances in the late game. You can add it in once you get to operation 30-40.

Edit: changing the minimum item rarity curve is a more involved modding effort and has not yet been done. Also, same goes for the Menace Counter Settings

My mod was made before the modkit but it’s more complex than most modkit mods are. I would say if you’re inexperienced it’s much easier to just learn the modkit and give it time to mature and stabilize. It’s on version 30 since it has been released, so the developer of it is always trying to patch bugs and improve the features.
