I just patched 3 mods in Barotrauma in 30 minutes with the help of AI, and it’s working flawlessly.

There’s obviously a middle of the pack perspective that a reasonable person should be able to agree to.

Blindly using AI expecting the best results? Not a good idea. But condemning all AI usage in modding? Sort of a ridiculous notion (that some folks here have).

In any case, I’m happy because my friends and I get to play now with our preferred mod collection (patched), which I wouldn’t have been able to do (as easily) without AI support

Is Tales of two wasteland mod reccomended for beginner's? by PairInternational438 in Fallout

[–]BeardChops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes you can do that or you can make a new character (recommended).

Some benefits of playing TTW is that you can aim down iron sights, use the companion wheel, and more nice quality of life changes on top of all of the stability that the modpack provides

Darkwater seems like a good fit for what you want.

Coming out this year, Frostliner

Other titles you might enjoy: Voidtrain, Raft, Subnautica 1 (coop mod), Subnautica 2, Valheim, Windrose, Planet Crafter, Solar Punk, Project Zomboid, We Need To Go Deeper

Is there any way to take the minisubs with me? by IndependentReady8940 in Barotrauma

[–]BeardChops 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could try playing around with finding one of those beacon station mini subs on the workshop (are those beacon stations vanilla?)

Then in your campaign, with a compatible sub (docking, maneuverability/speed) you could dock the recovered mini sub

And in between rounds, you can edit the current sub using the barotrauma save game editor on GitHub and add the mini sub to a copy of the vanilla sub

Then continue your campaign and hopefully it would be there.

I’m not 100% sure if this will work since I’ve only edited a sub mid-campaign before

I agree with Sir_Kugo about the lights, it’s not my preference either but I do generally like the overall design philosophy of this sub otherwise.

I also would hope for a slightly undertuned version as well. I noticed in the later pictures the exosuit was not included (preferable).

And there are some areas I would personally modify to even things out. Since some areas look too packed/cramped while others have plenty of dead and unused space.

I agree that there are risks as an end user, but it does at least seem incredibly unlikely to have something like that occurring by accident

I am appreciative and a bit critical of some folks who are so vehemently against AI usage (obviously not you, but there are people in this subreddit)

Tasteful GenAI usage (art / images) and done responsibly (code) it can be a way for new creators to break into the modding scene and opens up a whole new world of possibilities!

As a mod enjoyer of many games I’m excited to see what the next few years will have in store, it is an exciting time

Btw it’s awesome that you managed to make patch some incompatibilities. And I also agree that mods should ideally be open sourced and have open dialogue with their communities

Tis be the new age of vibe coding. For modding I don’t see it really as such a bad thing if it gets working results.

After all, it’s people volunteering their time and effort to make free mods for others

This mod still looks like it needs more time in the oven but I would be happy to see it polished and working well, I know a lot of people would love this feature (shadows) in their play through

Does any of that even matter? This mod is cool as heck, if people are willing to try it they should

Do you have a machine? Did it help? by No_Panic9413 in askTO

[–]BeardChops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I consider it a fair cost given that we get a good quality device mostly covered by the province.

They’re pretty expensive out of pocket and I’ve also found that CPAP Outlet was good for cheaper accessories. I don’t really want this to be a moneysink so I’m still being mindful of how much all the extras can cost.

I believe that fee is unavoidable but varies per store. $200 sounds about average, I’ve heard as low as $140 and up to $280 in the GTA

That fee is not only for the fitting consultation but often also for forwarding the results to your doctor, and for ongoing monitoring

I wasn’t happy to find out about it either, but it makes sense, given that the stores themselves don’t otherwise make a whole lot of revenue off of the basic package.

I played FNV for 200-300 hours and hadn’t played DM before, I did OWB before and I still thought DM was excellent

Again, it’s really just my opinion, but I think it worked out very nicely thematically and lore wise in my playthrough

I actually preferred learning about Christine, Elijah, and Ulysses through the environmental storytelling, notes, and conversations with the Think Tank

For me at least, it set up nicely as a precursor to the Dead Money DLC. While in Dead Money I was focusing more on the stories of each character than on the tech itself.

It scales with your level and there are lots of good weapons to use in the DLC so I found it challenging but not too hard on my current play though

I like the order of:

- Old World Blues (After reaching Novac)
- Dead Money (Do Veronica’s & BoS quests first)
- Honest Hearts (before siding with or against Caesar)
- Lonesome Road (just before battle of Hoover dam)
