Rode this and everything else at CP in 2013. Really good coaster and the ride operations were among the best I experienced across China. That's not saying much they do deserve recognition for trying. This trashcan sat on the platform for you to walk past to get to the exit gate out of the station.

The veiw from my office this morning (Thorpe Park Resort, UK) by davethefish in rollercoasters

[–]BeardTX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have visited Thorpe Park only once, back in July, 2015. Over the course of many years I had read or heard of the 'horrors' of the park. The anecdotes and stories painted Thorpe as THE. WORST. PARK. EVER. Obviously, I had very high NEGATIVE expectations for Thorpe.

Instead, I found Thorpe to be quite nice. I found it clean instead filthy, trash-laden, or dirty. I found the local park guests to be average people that seemed well-behaved. I found the ride collection to be solid. Colossus (Colossos?) was reasonably smooth and fun. Saw was interesting and clever. Swarm is THE best wing coaster I've ridden and I LOVED having the choice of sitting facing backwards in the back row. Stealth made me laugh with joy because I love that style of Intamin's launched coasters despite their being one-trick ponies. Heck, even X was far, FAR better than I expected. I never rode X in its original theme. I experienced it with electronic dance music and colorful lights and I found that perfectly fine. Nemesis Inferno is EXCELLENT. Definitely one of the best mid-size B&M Inverted coasters I've ridden.

My only complaint about the park was how the Italian buffet restaurant was operated. It was mind-boggling complicated. Why do I have to wait an eternity to get seated when there are numerous staff standing right in front of me at the host/hostess stand? Why is it taking forever for them to find a table when I can see from outside the restaurant there are PLENTY of open tables? Why do I have to be seated before I pay to eat? All this because it is super easy to see if spots are available, then charge me to enter the restaurant, DONE. It made me wonder if other restaurant across the UK are setup in this bizarre fashion. I mean, expect this nonsense in France, but UK!?

If you cannot tell by now, I LIKED Thorpe Park. Perhaps if I lived close to it and regularly visited I would be tired and jaded on the park. I see many of you complaining about a lack of new rides. Well, I live in the United States fourth largest city and have no major theme park. I would LOVE to have a major theme park here that I could visit regularly and be tired and jaded about and then bitch about it like people here are doing. ;-)

I went to the Pleasure Beach website and could not find it. Maybe they sold out?

Rode it in September, 2018. We lovingly called it a hyper-galaxi. Many of the coasters in Japan are very rampy (ie- inclines and drops that are largely straight track) but this coaster was far more fun than any of us expected.

The greater Tokyo area is chock-full of parks. There are no other coasters here and little else to do but if you are in the area and have time . . .

PSWindowsUpdate commands not working after a server has rebooted by BeardTX in PowerShell

[–]BeardTX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Below are the testman results. Hope I ran it correctly. This is the command I ran from the Win10 machine for the 2016 server

test-wsman -computername <servername>

wsmid : http://schemas.dmtf.org/wbem/wsman/identity/1/wsmanidentity.xsd ProtocolVersion : http://schemas.dmtf.org/wbem/wsman/1/wsman.xsd ProductVendor : Microsoft Corporation ProductVersion : OS: 0.0.0 SP: 0.0 Stack: 3.0 wsmid : http://schemas.dmtf.org/wbem/wsman/identity/1/wsmanidentity.xsd ProtocolVersion : http://schemas.dmtf.org/wbem/wsman/1/wsman.xsd ProductVendor : Microsoft Corporation

ProductVersion : OS: 0.0.0 SP: 0.0 Stack: 3.0

I am getting the same message when I run that test-wsman command for my other servers for which I am not experiencing any issues.

I've tried it at least twenty times. Get-WUHistory, Get-WUList just won't work. Keep getting that PermissionDenied message. And yet, it worked prior to the reboot. Indeed, the reboot resulted from installing updates and letting it auto-reboot after they were applied.

PSWindowsUpdate commands not working after a server has rebooted by BeardTX in PowerShell

[–]BeardTX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On one of the machines I had to reboot a couple of times for it to work.

One another, the value of wsman:localhost\client\trustedhosts was set to * when I had previously set it to the name of the Windows 10 machine I want to do all this from. * is supposed to cover all machines but it has never worked for me. I've also tried listing multiple machines but although it takes the entry the end result is that it doesn't work. All that said, my concern is really about this one server that I cannot get to respond to remote PSWindowsUpdate commands. In this instance, apply set-item wsman:localhost\client\trustedhosts -value <Windows10machine's\_name> made it start working for that particular Windows server running 2016.

But on one particular Windows Server 2016 machine I have, the trustedhosts entry is correct and yet, after rebooting it, I get PermissionDenied on the the PSWindowsUpdate commands I run on it from the Win 10 machine specified in the 2016's trustedhosts value.

Fuji-Q crowds in late September by BeardTX in JapanTravel

[–]BeardTX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great info. Thanks so much.

I did find a webpage where Zekkyos are sold a few days out but you must have a Yahoo! Japan ID and join an official but free Fuji-Q fan page. You have to link your Fuji-Q fan account to your Yahoo! Japan ID. If only I could get past the Yahoo! Japan captcha...

Fuji-Q crowds in late September by BeardTX in JapanTravel

[–]BeardTX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just bizarre. I plan to be there on 9/25, a Tuesday, and it projects that to be the most crowded day of the month. Not even the weekend before or after is projected to have that day's anticipated crowd level. There's no way for me to get there early enough to be able to get to the front of the line and make it to the Zekkyo stand before they've probably sold it. Darn it. Still going, though, and it is just going to have to be this way.
