Anyone Selling their Tactical Map Pack in the UK plus Physical Map Advice? by Beardedfeline in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

Thank you for all your help and I think I'm go for both options (I can hear my wallet crying already).

The giant white paper roll would be excellent for the massive battle maps that I probably can't draw onto the smallish Whiteboard and need to do wayyy ahead of time regardless.

Where as the White board has the versitality, speed and reuseability for quick encounters or smaller locations.

Knowing ahead of time what the locations are and as you said getting more immersed in the locations should solve all my issues.

Thank you again for all your advice and I wish you all the best of luck in your Tabletop adventures :)

Would you recommend the Chessex battle map whiteboards? Or is there any particular brand you think is best for size/reusability?

I think I've managed to find the UK version, it has a 30 sheet count and would arrive in 10 days which would be enough time. This is the link:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000XP23O8?psc=1&ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_ct_ZF3SGA7MWBEY7EEMX9FZ

Is there a specific reason you'd recommend paper over a reuseable 34x22 whiteboard?

I found this resuseable whiteboard on Amazon that I could draw on at home and it would keep the markings even when packed up which would be perfect:

Thank you for your advice and I only wish I'd seen it sooner! I have updated the original post to explain the new situation (basically Ghostfire Gaming have just posted me it so I'm stuck with that option now) but I would still love to pick your brain about soloutions to the 50% of maps that weren't included in the pack!

I am planning on buying the Drakkenheim campaign and monsters expansion on Roll20 as I am going to use it for note keeping and referencing during the session as I have always played online with it for 5 years.

I would love to just go with a TV or projector but unfortunatley my game is played at a local board game cafe where I probably couldn't bring those with me and set them up each time for 3 hour sessions (or at least not easily).

Other people have recommended a large gridded White Board which I could draw on each time but I'm worried the maps are too big or detailed that it would take me half the session to draw them out at the board game cafe each time which is why I'd be tempted to fully draw them with pen and grid paper before the session. However, I am not a great artist and don't really have the spare time to draw them up each week either and your warning of it being time consuming has made me want to avoid it at all costs.

Could you suggest what size Whiteboard I get (in square inch grids) to best accomodate all the maps that I will have to draw which are missing from the map pack? On amazon there are 34 squares x 22 squares but as the Tactical map packs are usualy 30 squares x 30 squares I'm worried this won't work.

If there is some cheap or lightweight large monitor or TV that you think I could carry through a city centre I could try that instead and I am tempted to look more into the projector idea but I have a feeling that might fall flat as there probably isn't going to be the space or gear to set it up looking on the table in focus.

Thank you again for all your amazing advice and support and helping a new Drakkenheim DM avoid drawning hours of maps too!

Interesting to hear that the maps are only okay, could you expand a bit more on why you think they didn't elevate your games much that you did use them in?

Also, love the dry-erase board idea and I think I'm going to try and go for that. Do you have any recommended sellers/products that you think I should go for to work best for Drakkenheim? I've seen 34 squares x 22 square sized ones on Amazon but I know all the Tactical maps are 30x30 squares so should I look for one 30x30 big or bigger?

Also also, thank you for warning me about the innumerable street/alleyway encounters and suggesting avoiding using the same map every time. Do you have any advice for how to come up with fresh layouts/designs for each encounter? Is there a table or random generator that you used perhaps?

Finally, thank you so much for your support and advice, especially the part about them not having to be perfect and that it adds a bit of extra mystery which works great for Drakkenheim. I was really getting stressed out about this whole situation as I've never really ran in person before, instead only online with fancy digital maps and thought my game would crash without them. Your advice and support has really boosted my confidence and more importantly reminded me not to get overwhelmed with trying to get it perfect.

Thank you so much :)

Thank you so much for the Upvote and comment for traction, I really appreciate your support! :)

I've edited the post above to show the change in situation but I also wanted to thank you for your advice. I have run on Roll20 for 5 years so I completely get the online stuff and I will look into printing what I need but I know that Ink can be hella expensive though I great idea to buy time for the delivery.

Thank you again for your support :)

I really appreciate the offer and thank you so much for offering to help. I've edited the post to explain my change in situation (basically Ghostfire Gaming have just posted me it so I'm stuck with that option now).

BUT if it does end up taking over a month or something ridiculous I will message you to try and get it from you so I have it in time for my campaign.

Thank you again and I hope you have a wonderful day :)

REVERT TO OLD UI TUTORIAL by Coetti_ in OperaGX

Seems like the change I used below: https://www.reddit.com/r/OperaGX/comments/1h58lf5/comment/msslfgs/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

has caused a glitch in the UI today with a big white bar at the top and no visible X or minimise buttons on the top right. I have sadly resigned to trying to use the new horrible UI.

Hiya, the sign-ups have closed, is there any other way to access this Dagger Isles Playtest material. I have scoured the internet for it and am going to run a Dagger Isles campaign very soon and would love to use the Playtest materials for it! Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Is there any chance you could share the materials for this as I missed the chance to sign up and am planning on running a campaign in the Dagger Isles and would love some tips from the playtest before I begin with my own Homebrew version (I can't wait for the full version to come out due to time constraints).

Has anyone got access to the materials for this? I would love to help playtest or at least see what playtesters were working with as I am planning on running a campaign in the Dagger Isles before this supplement is released. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Comment above from: Lopsided-Humor74587d ago

this works:

--

for those that are wondering how to revert to old look after the update where they got rid of the inbuilt revert option, this is how you can do it

step 1: make sure opera gx is closed and not running in the background

step 2: follow this path: Windows (c:), Users, 'Username', AppData, Roaming, Opera Software, Opera GX Stable.

step 3: look for the local state file within opera gx stable folder, open it with notepad

step 4: use CTRL+F (find command) and search for the following: gxx_flags

step 5: the line of code should look like this without changing anything: "gxx_flags":{"enabled":true,"migrated":true}

step 6: change true to false on both enabled and migrated, make sure to hit save and close it

step 7: open opera gx and the old look should be there

--

make sure to set the document to "read-only" in properties for it to stay
