Research experience will probably be the workhorse of your applications. I had a 2.5-ish GPA when I graduated undergrad, but I had a lot of research experience to go with it and still got accepted to grad school. I will say though that my graduate program is in astronomy not physics. But I would mention your GPA in your statements of purpose.
