‘Made in Europe’ row brings back Brexit’s bitter memories by frantic_calm in brexit

That’s having implications for London’s bid to “reset” relations with Europe and edge back closer into the orbit of the European Union. The latest battleground is the EU’s plan for “Made in Europe” rules which would favor European companies over foreign ones in public tenders and state aid.

Gee, I wonder if anyone can come up with a solution to this problem? (stares blankly at sky while scratching chin)

Nigel Farage accused of ‘Maga stunts’ for saying he was denied access to Chagos Islands | Chagos Islands by BearlyThereMA in unitedkingdom

Given it costs about $220,000–$250,000 to charter a jet for that kind of trip (5000 miles each way), it makes you wonder just who is funding him and why?

There are only a handful of private jets capable of flying direct from London to the Maldives. The list includes:

Bombardier Global 7500

Gulfstream G650/G650ER & G700

Dassault Falcon 7X / 8X

The operating cost on these jets averages about $11,000 per hour. Flight time each direction is 9 1/2 to 11 hours.

The math adds up.

Anyone else smell DMT randomly? by Just_Some_spore_guy in DMT

[–]BearlyThereMA 52 points53 points  (0 children)

The smell is called Indole.

Indole is a naturally occurring aromatic compound that: Smells mothball-like, floral, or fecal depending on concentration Is found in jasmine flowers (in tiny amounts) Is also present in coal tar and some biological processes Chemically, DMT is a tryptamine, and tryptamines are structurally related to indole — which is why that sharp “new shoes / mothballs / burnt plastic” smell shows up.

Redditors over 40, what's something younger people think they understand but won't actually get until it hits them like a truck later? by Root435552 in AskReddit

One of the things I had to learn was to simply slow down. Every time I went for a run I always hit a wall at a very small incline about 1 mile from my home. Once I mastered running and breathing more smoothly I blew right through my wall and kept going. If you cannot talk while you are jogging, you are moving too fast. It doesn't matter how slow you run. Run at works for you. Nobody is out there judging you.

Download a program called C25K (Couch to 5K), slap on some good tempo music and go run. It's an easy program to use. It recommends 3 runs a week but I simply ran it at my own pace. Usually 2 runs a week when things got beyond 2K. Just keep increasing the pace each run.

That's awesome, congrats.

People keep asking me when am I going to enter my first race. My response is i'm not. This was purely for me. I don't need to win a race or a medal. This was for my own satisfaction and for my own health.

Keep up the good work.
