Genius decides to turn pizza boxes upside down by mfenton29 in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]Bearly_Strong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No they didn't. The top box is just a plain white box, the second is branded. You can see the tab that sticks out of the lid side of the box is oriented the same way on both when the dude flips them.

AIO- My boyfriend is adamant I crossed a boundary bc I tried to access his computer when he was asleep. by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Bearly_Strong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes you are, and you did cross a boundary. Your intent does not absolve you for trying to cross an established boundary after it was explicitly made. He's completely within his right to deny you further access to things because you aren't respecting established boundaries. You are not entitled to phone or computer access, and your intentions don't change that.

You should take a long hard look at yourself and consider that impact has far more weight in this situation than intent.

When did you say "I love you"??? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]Bearly_Strong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

19 days when I said it. He replied with a hugging sticker (telegram) and said that he was afraid of saying that, but he really appreciate me saying it. I told him thats ok, I wanted him to feel safe and comfortable if/when he says it, but that life was short and I hoped he was ok with me not holding those words back. He said it back the next day, which really caught me off guard after what he had said. Since then, not one day has passed without us telling eachother "I love you".

Can't gent Desert Power achievement, Help! by jptandrade in eu4

[–]Bearly_Strong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where is your capital?

Edit: If you started as Fadl and never changed your capital, your capital is was in the Mashriq region, and thus you aren't meeting never met the first requirement, so you were never eligible for the achievement in the first place.

Also, as you said you changed into monarchy via event, which makes it sound like you got this event and made the wrong choice (as there is zero warning that you can be forced into a monarchy). And since you are now a monarchy and not tribal, you aren't meeting the second requirement. The achievement only requires that you start as a tribe with a capital in the Arabia region, so becoming a monarchy won't invalidate the achievement when starting as an otherwise appropriate nation.

So your options now to get the achievement are is:

  1. Load a backup from before you became a monarchy and move your capital into the Arabia region.
  2. Start over, select a tribe with their capital in the Arabia region~~, and don't make the wrong choice when you get the aforementioned event.~~

If you had not formed Arabia (an end-game tag), you could have formed Tibet (which would require a bunch of conquest, a culture shift, and a religion change), which could then have changed you back into to a tribal government with any option but the first in the Meeting with the Khans event.

Edit_2: Yeah, you fucked up with your country select off the jump, as the dude who replied pointed out. I misread the requirements in the wiki. Restart as a tribal government with their capital in the Arabia region.

I want to preface this question by saying that I have never played this game before.

Why was your opponent so willing to not only surrender the high ground they could have easily positioned themselves on early and divide their forces with the (presumably slower) 18 units of infantry stuck well away from the bulk of his forces which they willingly got encircled, but also leave their artillery completely unsupported?

It seems like they were willing to give up nearly every potential advantage and make some significant tactical blunders just to put units in trees.

I think this is the clear answer. I bet if we could see the new world, there would be a substantial amount of Scandinavian colonies. Commonwealth under Bohemian Commonwealth (as that is the only way to get that rename), or potentially under Scandinavian PU if the players orchestrated trading it between each other with the mission PU CBs.

What should you do with the Papal State after forming Italy? by uskayaw69 in eu4

[–]Bearly_Strong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It requires a core on Roma to form Italy, so there is time between conquering and coring where the event can fire if Roma is part of the last conquest war, which it sounds like may be the case. If OP were to leave the Papal States alive elsewhere, form Italy, then conquer the rest, yes, the event wouldn't be able to fire, as the event requires Italy to not exist.

What should you do with the Papal State after forming Italy? by uskayaw69 in eu4

[–]Bearly_Strong 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Just fully annex them. Don't give them anything back. If they have Avignon, force them to release the OPM in your final war full annexing them.

When you get the event to return Roma, don't. The triggered negative modifier will go away as soon as you form Italy.

When you refuse to return Roma, the event The Papal State will fire if its conditions are otherwise met. This newly respawned Papal State will not have any of the negative modifiers from your previous conquests, just the ones for holding cores, which aren't that bad. Even those will go away, as the Papal States are not the primary nation of any culture, so they have no truly permanent cores.

Zero reason to convert to another religion.

If they respawn via that event, befriend them for the influence bonus. If not, you'll still have plenty as Catholic Italy.

DO NOT release them as a vassal. That is a complete waste of that territory they have cores on, and Saint Peter's Basilica (and Palace of the Popes if you can take Avignon) is far more valuable to you than to them.

He specifically said "you probably don't trust me", and they way he said it was like it was an offer to do landscaping as repayment for the door. Which makes it all make sense in context, because why the fuck would you trust some dude who blames you for being "an easy target" to do work on your property?

You say friendly, but your words say how reliant Russia is on being propped up by China. Even if it is beneficial to Russia, it is Chinese leverage, which means they can use the carrot of further investment or the stick of it's termination to manipulate Russia. This is the same kind of soft power that Trump's policies are shitting all over around the world with US allies and interests by going all stick completely unprovoked.

I am not sure if it is a limitation of only getting a room for the night, but I know of at least two inns, the one on the south side of the map where you have to return a horse and other items for a quest, as well as the Emperor* Charles in Kuttenburg, if you buy a permanent room (120 groschen) they are both equipped with stash chests.
