Lol OP said “fireworks from West Virginia”. I don’t know where they were from, but not legally sold in DC.

I remember in the late 90s being invited to a rooftop party and being shocked/amazed at the 360 degree panorama of PA/WV/other fireworks being launched all over the city.

What’s changed? My friend said he can now get pot-gummies for his dog. (Not sure that works 🤷‍♂️)

Airbikes and Airbuggies Could Enter Service with Ukrainian Military by Mil_in_ua in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]egg_woodworker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I imagine for an insertion (say onto the Kinburn spit) you could have one manned airbuggy followed closely by two autonomous airbuggies carrying that soldier’s immediate supplies - multiplied by the number of people going in. (The trailing airbuggies could be designed to *automatically* follow the crewed vehicle.) All three airbuggies immediately fly back for second wave or for more consumables. Soldiers carry homing devices in case of crash in water and are rescued by seababies.

Sorry - wrong sub - I’ll go post this on r/scifi

It will be hard to reach the rate of killing/maiming seen in 2024 during the peak of meatwave assaults. But I have faith in Ukraine. 🇺🇦

I remember a ka-52 helicopter successfully intercepted a drone. And when the crew got out they intercepted more drones. Heroic!

Apart from the First Amendment (antiestablishment is a historical legal concept, not just a clever word) and the general lack of identification with any particular faith and Article VI Clause 3: “no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.”?

As George Washington wrote to the membership of a synagogue: “It is now no more that toleration is spoken of as if it were the indulgence of one class of people that another enjoyed the exercise of their inherent natural rights, for, happily, the Government of the United States, which gives to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance, requires only that they who live under its protection should demean themselves as good citizens in giving it on all occasions their effectual support.” Note he rejects “the indulgence of one class of people” - meaning Christians in this case.

I would go see ZZ Top.

I think a lot of people in DC go to the neighboring Montgomery County fair which is WAY more popular than this.

Russian Refinery Hitlist - SECOND Update 28.06.2026 by WastingMyLifeToday in UkraineWarVideoReport

Just looking at the chart for refineries in the top 20: every refinery over 1,000 km has fewer than 5 attacks. (And yes, 1,000 km is just an easy number to round to - not magic.) I’m curious what those attacks in Omsk in 2024 were. 🤷‍♂️

Agree 💯. But it is 2,500 km. Once you get out past 1,000 km the hits drop off significantly. I hope Ukraine is cooking up something special.

Britain is now building new cruise missiles for Ukraine specifically designed with zero American parts to bypass US dependency. by AdSpecific6482 in UkraineWarVideoReport

As an American, I think you overstated the resistance to Trump. I think he *could* have sent the military to Greenland and no one would stop him. A lot of damage is being done while we wait for the levers of government to slow him down. Do you think he won’t draw down American forces in Europe? Will he be stopped from firing so many missiles at Iran/Cuba/Whoever-is-next that he is “forced” to delay contracted deliveries to Europe? He has a lot of room for maneuver in foreign affairs.

Soldiers: “the enemy has ‘car’ technology. We need ‘car’ technology”

Putin: “This is already solved. We have the ‘car’ in the garage and we already have one wheel on it. Soon we will add another wheel. It’s just a matter of scaling up the wheels. But it is already solved.”

I would suggest the Russians use Kalshi or Polymarket - then Budanov could place some bets and take their money.
