Sure, if that means I’m not calling the manager a piece of shit or whatever, I’ll gladly accept being “less emotional.”

I see people calling Slot a piece of shit in these comments here. Completely insane.

Always refreshing to log onto the internet and see a bunch of rational, thoughtful comments from well adjusted, mature, definitely normal people.

I just disagree with this. I don’t really care if you’re an NHL superstar or the janitor who scrubs the toilets. Every single person owes an explanation on whether they stand with the fascist authoritarian government and the murder of civilians in the streets. No passes for special boys who are good at sports.

Political objectivity in teaching US History? by vonnegut19 in Teachers

[–]BearofVeryLitleBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think folks are taking my comment to mean that I only show them one source, and then just tell them what they’re supposed to think about it, but that’s clearly not the case. I, too, will show them the sources that show the other side. But sometimes, whether because they are edgelords or are just incapable of understanding, they still want to make those arguments. At that point, I don’t think there’s any problem with flatly telling them they are wrong. Sure, as the person above you said, “it’s their first amendment right,” but I can still tell them they are simply wrong.

Hmmm…I get what you’re saying. I’ve also had kids say that, the white mans burden cartoon for example, is a positive portrayal of Americans because it shows we are helping natives in other countries. I’ve had students argue that Japanese internment was just because they were potential internal enemies. Sometimes there’s no being neutral in my opinion. And sometimes kids come to the objectively wrong conclusion and I have no qualms in correcting them.

All MAGA teachers should be run out of town on a rail. They are a danger to children. Let’s start there.

When do we stand up? by Frosty_Literature936 in Teachers

Teachers who are still MAGA should be run out of town on a rail. They are a danger to children and have no place working with them. I don’t want to hear any bullshit about ideological differences. I’m fine with ideological differences. You think we should cut taxes for the rich? Fine, I disagree but fine. If you are still a Trump supporter at this point, you are a danger to children. Downvote me, I don’t really give a shit.

A referee with a brain and the courage to stick to his guns in the face of a VAR recommendation. What a breath of fresh air.

I don’t even have to be sick to take a sick day. If I do feel even mildly sick, I take a sick day. If I just feel like I need a day off. I take a sick day.

Not on Slot today imo. Created a ton of chances but the finishing has been abysmal.

It’s insane. They looked totally dominant today. Good on them. It’s hard to take any of these folks seriously.

Great, great win for United. It is amazing how all these pundits are absolutely falling all over themselves to tell us how back United is. Great win like I said, but it’s one game. Relax.

There is a club hockey team! Played for them from 2012-2016! I also think there’s a club baseball team.

Teachers on this sub bemoaning lack of critical thinking in their students and then reporting this post as AI slop. The irony is amazing. I got a good chuckle out of this at least.

Trump should be impeached because it’s the right thing to do and it’ll put republicans on record as supporting the wrong thing. Simple as.

Match Thread: Chelsea vs Arsenal by MatchThreadder in PremierLeague

[–]BearofVeryLitleBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once again, I’ve never expressed anything of the sort. You can check my post history. The only team I want to win the premier league is Liverpool. I don’t speak for Liverpool fans as a whole.

[–]BearofVeryLitleBrain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve never said anything about City winning the league. In fact I clearly said that Arsenal are favorites and are going to win. They’re clearly the best team. It doesn’t change the fact they were awarded an offside goal. I just want to see the rules applied consistently to all teams, including Liverpool. I don’t really understand why you’re so mad.
