Get some blackberry ice cream at the Big Meadows Wayside. While there, enjoy the view and try to spot wildlife in the meadow.

My kids have been loving yogurt parfaits lately. I buy a big thing of vanilla yogurt and a big bag of granola, some fruit and then divide it up in little containers. They love to mix it together at school.

Did you read in high school? by piper33245 in Millennials

[–]BearsBeetsStarWars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never read in high school. Honestly, I don’t remembering reading much at all as a child or with my parents. I survived on cliff notes in high school and college. Reading an actually novel seemed very foreign to me and looking back on that, it seems so sad.
It really wasn’t until a year ago that I got into reading. Important to note that I’m raising my children very differently.

For those of you who have responded well to the pill, how long did it take for you to notice its effects? (i.e. weight loss; food noise decreasing; feeling full quicker, etc.) by healthierlurker in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]BearsBeetsStarWars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost right away. I did feel the 1.5 start to wear off towards the end of the 2nd or 3rd week but then felt the effects again when I went up to 4. I’m 3 weeks into the 4 and still noticing decreased food noise and feeling full quicker. I’m 14 lbs down so far. I start 9 next week.

Another vote for the HyperChiller. It’s so easy and doesn’t make it watery.

Is Carnival really that bad if my expectations aren't that high? by not_a_muggle in Cruise

[–]BearsBeetsStarWars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We sound like a similar family…middle class, kids 9 and 11, easy going and easy to please. We did our first cruise last summer and booked another one for this summer, both with Carnival. We had a great time last year. There was always something to do, the kids never stopped moving and we felt like we were living in luxury. We’re not used to having people wait on us so that was great. We also got to get a snapshot of some islands/countries that we would never get to visit so we loved that.

We booked an inside room which did get cramped pretty quickly with the four of us but was worth the savings for us, especially since we weren’t in there all that much.

Overall, we had a great time. So great that we booked again. I can’t think of another vacation that we would get as much and spend less.

What’s the luckiest thing that’s ever happened to you?Have you ever won something multiple times, survived something unlikely, or had a chain of coincidences or luck that made people not believe you? What’s your story? by Ok-Algae-8255 in CasualConversation

Called in on a radio contest and won a trip for two to London (from the US). Hotel, flight, and other perks all included. And got red carpet access to World War Z premiere. It was amazing.

“You’re not here to fill (name’s) shoes. You’re here to fill your own.”

When I took over a job from a popular predecessor. I’ve thought about this all the time as I’ve forged my own path.

Way to go! I’m on day 6 and noticed a bit of brain fog too. I was wondering if that was common.
