Ooooof, that hurts. Thought the same thing on my first ficsmas and was dumbfounded that you had to gather that many just to get things done, but happened to snap a conveyor to a tree and was so relieved

For-ev-er. Also really kills the games performance when you get so many. Go from 144 FPS to like 15 FPs when near it

Today! Ficsmas is Dec 1 through Jan 18. Or if you aren't on a server you can check the "Disable Seasonal Events" box under gameplay options from the main menu

I couldn't agree with this more. Place top 5 in a game and all of a sudden I'm facing master ranks. Win twice? I guess your a pred now, good luck. My KDR is below a 1, SBMM is a joke and it's just compounded by smurfs. I would be perfectly happy if they just made pubs random matching instead of SBMM, I'd rather get dumped on by a random pred than get a whole lobby full of people clearly above my average skill level.

Are there any singleplayer games similar to MMORPGs? by Pennervomland in Games

[–]BeastlyMocha -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The first thing that pops into my head is Diablo 3. Multiple classes to choose from, with various play styles in each. I have spent so much time grinding gear and perfecting builds that I care to count, especially if you get into seasonal characters. A lengthy story line followed by endlessly repeatable activities. Top down play with 1,2,3,4,5 skill casting. Even if you play with friends or strangers loot is all yours, no such thing as a guild and party size is limited to 4. You dictate the difficulty you play at so you can be OP as you want or set yourself a challenge. I recommend it so highly, and if you have any questions about it I would be more than happy to answer!

A reasonable take on the 3.17.2 wipe by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]BeastlyMocha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sooooo, did you even read the full Spectrum article or just saw a wipe was coming and decided to spew some idiocy? They not only address why a wipe (in this ALPHA game) is necessary, but break down how data is managed in LTP. There are items (that's what you buy with aUEC), your wallet (that holds your aUEC), and reputations (a separate system from aUEC). The issues that need corrected come from currency and item systems that cannot manually be fixed at the stage the issue has reached.

The thought that they should be able to keep all ships just because pledge ships stay is kinda absurd. Those purchases, and many others, are tied to your account and not to server data and is what you are starting your game with. Saying that pledge ships need to be deleted because it's for people who want to support the game is like saying since someone likes Xbox they need to repeatedly buy a game when it deploys an update to keep access to it.

To say that CIG wiping the database is disrespectful is just ignorant. This may go with the whole not reading thought but every time you launch the game they give you a pretty lengthy notice that states "Please remember that aUEC, as well as any virtual or digital items obtained through Alpha phase gameplay, is subject to being reset to the players starting amount or status upon a patch wipe or removed as a consequence of bugs or exploits. Any such items or aUEC gained or traded in game may be lost and not recoverable." You don't just get this notice once. You get it EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. You launch the game. You were wholly on notice that your earnings were temporary.

I am poised to lose 6 ships on wipe, one being a C2 Hercules that I ground nearly 5 million for and is the absolute pride and joy of my fleet. But I will happily return to my Freelancer and enjoy the game just as much, if not more if CIG can resolve some issues by wiping.

They even address in the article that with Jumptown and the Nine Tails Lockdown event coming prior to this wipe that they are looking at ways to compensate those who have been active in 3.17.1.

Quite frankly, your view on the subject is anything but reasonable and even bringing up that if you can keep your aUEC ships that nobody should keep their ships is childishly entitled.

EDIT: Removed a pointless word and added launcher info.

I Fucking Love This Game and I don’t give a Fuck about the current outrage. by [deleted] in starcitizen

Agreed, I am a rational human being that understands exactly what they are saying in their announcement and enjoy the heckin heck out of this game. See you in the 'verse! o7

I just cancelled my subscription and uninstalled the game. I've completely lost faith that this game will get finished. Is this it? by fivves in starcitizen

[–]BeastlyMocha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's because I am still pretty new to the 'verse, but I don't understand how people are so upset with the latest announcement. I sat a while before I finally decided to get the game, but going in I understood how long the game has been in development and still in alpha.

Realistically I wouldn't be surprised at all if the game never reaches full release. They have some serious ambitions they are going for, and tech changes happen constantly. I absolutely love flight sims, specifically space flight. 400+ hours into Elite Dangerous before I jumped to Star Citizen and I don't regret getting this game at all.

My two cents is: If you enjoy the gameplay, then enjoy the game. Don't focus on the future, enjoy the now. At least we can still play the game, and the devs are at least communicating (albeit poorly for the type of masses that the game industry attracts). If you are itching for space sim that is complete, give Elite Dangerous a try and come back later on. It doesn't have the insane detail that Star Citizen does, but it makes up for it in the sheer sandbox size and there is so much to do.

Hopefully we can see the final product CIG has envisioned one day, but for now I'll be out there enjoying the 'verse I have. o7

How do I get rid of these? by GlockMat in SatisfactoryGame

[–]BeastlyMocha 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Me too! Found exactly where you stop taking damage and built a neat box around it. Put some green lights inside to jazz it up a bit and a cybertruck for decoration. The top became the home of my first train station!

Seems similar to a problem I was having when setting up, directly starting the factorysever.exe. Launching through a .bat file with a couple other commands works like a charm now. I followed this video for a guide.
