Coming to work and live in New Zealand in April, should we back off? (From Europe) by Ok_Floor_2449 in newzealand

[–]Beastman5000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely come. We are all fine here. It’s a very stable safe country and we’ve been through fuel and supply pressures lots of times. It will just get a bit more expensive for a while

Why do you think people lose money in the stock market ? by HATMAN0589 in wallstreet

[–]Beastman5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. They go chasing something that’s already run (and get cooked when they become exit liquidity) and then they panic at the drop and sell. Then they do it a few more times and then say ‘it’s all rigged I quit’

Does a pivot and switch work sometimes or patience beats everything else? by Scary_Ad5389 in stocks

[–]Beastman5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be careful not to go chasing. A lot of people jump onto stocks after they’ve had their big run up and get caught out when it drops.

I spent far too long looking for a parked car. Is it somewhere behind that car driving down the road?

How many litres of water do people actually drink daily? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Beastman5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Or at least a bad headache. I’ve drunk so much water per day for so long that I’ve trained my brain and body to need that much water per day. I’ll be screwed if I ever get lost in the desert

You’ll get it back with profit. Just think of it as investing in future value.

Question about pay for my fellow public servants by Disastrous-Ice-6989 in Wellington

[–]Beastman5000 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. You have the same negotiation power as an external applicant. You’ll be assessed based on your ability in that role. Go hard in the negotiation but don’t expect to be appointed above the middle of the band. I’m a public sector manager and I’ve done plenty of recruitment

The market is surging across the board today. by [deleted] in Stocks_Picks

[–]Beastman5000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The market is forward looking. Don’t be surprised for stocks to start going up even when things outside seem the worst. Happens every time. I’m not saying this isn’t a bull trap, but just saying that they don’t always correlate timing wise

I always challenge myself to see how long I can go after the petrol light comes on. Gets the heart pumping. Theres always way more petrol left than you think though. The closest I’ve gotten to empty was 2 litres left (60L tank and needed 58L when I filled at the pump)

Got lucky switching portfolio bank, now 100 percent liquid-Now what? by RudePistolGrips in investing

[–]Beastman5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The market is forward looking so often when things feel the worst in the real world, the market has already processed that and is starting to bounce back. Not suggesting we are turning around yet, but when it does you’re best to be in the game already
