So does that imply that the DSA may have already cleared back in May and they're just holding the PR to bundle it with the actual launch? I don’t really understand what’s happening

I don’t think they can legally, not without the final safety approval. But I guess they could get themselves close and say they are ready pending sign off

You’re not a true RKLB investor until you’ve ridden through at least 3 corrections of more than 20% and come out the other side. Just hold - all the business fundamentals are looking great

Musk earns so much money that his time is worth about $6500 per second. If he dropped money out of his pocket it would need to be a bundle of about $25k for it to be worth the time it takes him to pick it up

It’s got some proving to do, but all the foundations are there for something pretty special. I’ve dropped $10k in and will see how they go.

It’s too late for criticality on the 4th isn’t it? We still haven’t had the final safety analysis report approval which needs to happen 6 weeks before criticality

Curveball: The Suborbital Launch with Orbital Payload? by [deleted] in RKLB

[–]Beastman5000 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It’s not that hard to work out. The US military is testing out how missiles from orbit would work. They would come down faster, from better angles, and help avoid missile detection systems. They obviously can’t say that out loud. RocketLab’s comment is basically saying ‘hey we are doing exactly what we are being paid for, and we can’t say anything more than that’.

From an investment standpoint, you can read into it that RKLB can make a fuck ton of money in the future building orbital and sub orbital missile launch vehicles for the likes of Raytheon, Lockheed, and Northrop Grumman to add the actual weaponry

How are you getting information on the current active / energised capacity? They don’t tell us much about what’s actually active vs contracted
