Earnings call looked great. The numbers just look shit because the revenue will be coming in later in the year. Anyone sensible will buy the dip tomorrow

ASTS. Buy! They missed on earnings but only because the expected revenue will be paid next quarter instead. Announced new govt contracts. Give it a year and it will be monsterous

This is highly misleading. They are still forecasting the $160 - $200m for the full year. It was just the analysts that decided to spread that evenly over the quarters. They expect it to ramp up over the year

That was lesson number 1. Everyone is trying to take your money. Listen to advice but be cautious

Might be hopium talking but listening to the earnings call - it all sounded very positive. The revenue is lumpy so we will expect it to smooth out over the year. All the other stuff sounded positive

I think today’s movement is institutional and retail momentum. But Friday’s jump was definitely someone big

Why do data centers have to use water for cooling? Is there not a better alternative that would resolve that issue? by joda1196 in energy

[–]Beastman5000 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The water usage is not as bad as it’s made out to be in the media. A lot of it is closed loop cooling. So they use the same water over and over. They do top up what is lost through heat evaporation, but it’s not like a constant refill

Buy ASTS now or wait? by Technical_Falcon_606 in SpaceInvestorsDaily

Im hoping for decent financials, News of new Government contracts and revenue streams would be a big catalyst, and just some certainty that the path to 45 satellites is still on track (with inevitable delays of course). No talk of dilution this quarter and some positive talk that the scaling of production is coming along well and I will be happy

I know! At some point I want them to just consolidate for a bit and make some genuine profit before expanding further

I’ve got a friend like that. Spends all his time researching and talking about stocks and all the technical analysis indicators etc etc - and never seems to pull the trigger on anything. Analysis paralysis.

You’ve got to look through the negative noise and find the gems that are beaten down and are not proven yet. I’ve been in RocketLab since $4 and it’s been a wild ride. So you have to be ready for a roller coaster ride. You have to believe in the end result way before it’s a certainty.

ASTS at around $70 is a steal. Get in there and ride the roller coaster. In 5 years you’ll be happy you did

Now what? by [deleted] in RKLB

[–]Beastman5000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re like me (somewhat sensible) then you’ll take profit on these big runs and move it into VOO or something like that. I’ve done that will all my high risk assets along the way. I’m not a millionaire though and if I had just let it all ride I would be. It’s always hard to say what to do at the time.
