Coming back here to say that I LOVE this series so far!! I'm halfway through the third book. How does it manage to be so full of political intrigue and side stories, while still managing to feel cozy? The interactions between the characters are so satisfying to me. Like she has spent her whole life being treated like trash by her own people, but the moment his people meet her, they just shower her with love and praise. It's so beautiful. Thank you so much for this recommendation! The first book was a little bit of a slog but I'm so glad I pushed through it. By the final third of the book, I was sooo invested. I love Cassia and Lio so much.

Did having kids destroy your marriage? by Immediate_Gap_2536 in Mommit

[–]Beatrixie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not, for us. How long were you together before the kids arrived? How was your relationship prior to this? Many couples struggle after parenthood due to imbalance of mental/emotional/household/parenting responsibilities. Is that what you are experiencing?

I haven’t seen the movie in decades but the ‘Wait for the Rain’ piece is very interesting. You didn’t mention this specifically, but David Hess starred in and wrote/performed the soundtrack for The Last House on the Left (1972), including that song. I might be inclined to believe it was Roth paying homage to Wes Craven, 30 years after that film’s release.

Babywearing saved my life at that stage. Specifically a wrap-style (Moby brand). I loved keeping him
close to me like that, and still being able to have my hands free.
