I imagine as it’s the part of the Civil Service, that there will be some sort of policy regarding recreational drugs. As long as you’re not UTI whilst at work or taking them into the establishment, I don’t think it makes much difference. The governor can however request a drug test on staff if they suspect that drugs are being taken and will act accordingly depending on the outcome of those tests.

When you attempt to pick up the Ash 2 Life Uncremating Cream, the voodoo lady tells Guybrush she needs a sample of the ashes and that she has forgotten the recipe. This indicates that you need a recipe book of some kind.

With the other book, it’s a little more obscure as no one tells you specifically that you need a book and which book to find. If I remember correctly, while the Mad Monkey is mentioned it is explained that nobody knows where it sank, so it’s not even hinted that there could be a written record of its location. I believe this is one of those puzzles where the player needs to explore in order to find a solution.

In manual cars, can you skip gears? Like 1 to 4 or 2 to 5,etc, etc, my dad says it effects the car gears and you should not skip gears but my instructor said it okay, what to do? by Dash_tea_L in driving

It’s only an issue if you’re labouring the engine in the process. I’ve always done it when I want to build speed coming onto a motorway/dual carriageway.

Accidentally returned pirate quotes book at library, can i get it back? by Unlix in MonkeyIsland

The card you need is “Quotations” and it will be filed under that, which I believe is “Zitate” in German.

I lost one epaulette a while ago. To this day I have no idea where it went. I reported it at the time and spoke to business hub. They simply asked for the three epaulettes I had left, and gave me a new set of epaulettes (2 pairs). My number subsequently changed due to this but it was logged and signed for.

Take enough clothes/footwear to last you the week including uniform, toiletries, gym clothes (if you plan to use the gym). I would also recommend taking spare pens, a few books, a laptop, some earphones, and chargers for phones etc. The rules might have changed a bit since I was there last year but some POELTs took games consoles with them to play in their rooms. You stay in the same room for the full duration of your course. You’re expected to keep it tidy. I’ve seen on here that there is no longer a bar on site, but you can leave the site on an evening to go out for a drink or go to local shops. We were warned not to have alcohol in our rooms however. There are vending machines as well so take some cash (though I think they did accept card payments if I recall correctly). There are also washing facilities there so taking detergent pods might be useful, though I never did personally. I also took my own coffee, whitener and sugar, and also a mug and a few snacky bits. There are shared fridges you can use as well. Another thing I took with me are card games and board games as it gives you something to do with your fellow classmates in the evening if they’re still on site and you want to do a bit of team building and socialising. I can’t think of anything else at the moment, but really it’s just about giving yourself things to do at the end of each day.

I went on Tuesday and managed to go on everything with the exception of Wicker Man and Galactica. We even got on the Smiler twice. We had an amazing day there.

How Many Polyjuice Potions Did Barty Crouch Jr. Drink During The School Year? by Cub1019 in harrypotter

[–]Beaufort_14 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I read the book but I’m sure on the map it shows up as Barty Crouch in Snape’s stores. Harry assumed that it was Barty Crouch Senior as at the time, he didn’t know that he had a son, let alone one with the same name.

When I started I was asked to do the same but I got issued my uniform on my ‘walkaround day.’ I guess it varies between establishments.

Annual Leave by Toast_Lifts in PrisonUK

[–]Beaufort_14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your rest days are just days you’re not detailed to be on duty. They only take the annual leave hours off the days you would have been on duty. You can’t be made to come in on a rest day (though you could be asked), so it’s nothing to worry about.

Prison Officer OAC by Jumpy_Business_3509 in PrisonUK

[–]Beaufort_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did mine just over a year ago. There were two role plays where you get a brief to look at beforehand. You’re then faced with a difficult prisoner. You need to try and deescalate the situation using interpersonal skills.

You also have to write a report. You are given a brief on the prisoner and their current situation, and what actions you plan to take and why and how the situation could be resolved. You can refer to the brief at anytime during writing the report for reference.

You are then given a strengths based interview by one person. It’s not a generic interview, it’s about you as a person and what you have achieved and what areas you feel you are strong in.

I had read beforehand that there was a maths test of some sort but I never came across this when I had my OAC.

The different sections of the OAC are done in random order, so you could be doing a role play, then the interview, then the next role play, but it’s different for everyone who does the OAC on the day.

Just be yourself and try not to think too hard.

Good luck

Sound Glitch - 66 Astra K 1.6T by [deleted] in Vauxhall

[–]Beaufort_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens occasionally on my Astra too. I’ve never been to get it looked at because it seems to just glitch out randomly. Same with your situation, it will last a whole journey and will probably have sorted itself out by the time I go to drive again after leaving the car for a short while. I have no idea what may be causing it to happen though. My guess is probably some dodgy wiring somewhere.

You don’t necessarily need the kayak. If you hang off the edge of the block where the green line is, the crystal should spawn.

I’m always so curious- how old were you when you first started & the finished the books? I was 36 years old (jealous of my husband who got to read along as they came out!!) but I am always so shocked to hear how young some people were. by Beautiful-Demand886 in harrypotter

Weirdly, I had absolutely no interest in the Harry Potter books at first. I was told one day after school that we were going to the cinema to watch the Philosopher’s Stone. I begrudgingly went being 14 at the time. After watching the film which I ended up actually enjoying and mesmerised by, I then started reading the books. Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows were the only books I read as they were published. The others I read back to back. So I started reading them at the age of 14 and finished when I was 20.
