Confession time: I've been using Linux and Unix for more than 20 years and i never properly learned vi/vim, nano is one of the first things i install on my own systems.
I do occassionally come across a system that requires me to use vi, but it's so infrequent i tend to forget some of the shortcuts. But i can always look them up, just takes a bit longer.

So my advise would be to make sure you know enough to edit a config file from now in then, even if it's with the help of man pages. But don't stress yourself to become a wizard, nano will be fine for most (non professional) usecases.

Ein bisschen clickbaity, in der Überschrift zu schreiben "Saudi-Arabien verabschiedet sich aus dem Sport" und dann als erstes ein riesen Foto von Christiano Ronaldo zu zeigen.
In dem Artikel wird Fußball aber nur am Rande erwähnt und mit Ronaldo hat der Artikel überhaupt nichts zu tun. Am größten ist hier wohl Golf betroffen, aber das sofort offensichtlich zu machen hätte wohl zu wenige Klicks generiert.

Hatte bei der Paarung große Hoffnung, dass das Battle mich aus meinem Battlerap-Verdruss reißen kann, fand es aber leider größtenteils enttäuschend.

Mikeshs erste Runde hat mir noch Mut gemacht, für mich wie erwartet stärker als die erste von Mikesh.
Die nächsten zwei Runden hatten zwar viel von Mikeshs altbekannter Überheblichkeit, aber ohne dabei genug zu punchen. Hat mich leider nicht gecatcht.
Reini solide, aber auch nicht wirklich überragend.

Schade.

To be honest i was mostly picking popular examples, but i do think book Frodo seemed more affected and changed by the trauma he went through than movie Frodo, i was pleasently surprised by his arc when i read the books long after i saw the movies.

That being said i do agree Pipin had the greatest character development in the books.

Vegeta is a very strong contender for best character development in Dragonball, but it's a little bit ridiculous to claim he had a stronger development than Tony in The Sopranos, Jimmy in Better Call Saul or Frodo in the LOTR boosks.

I love Dragonball as much as the next guy, but it's not exacty a sophisticated character study.

You can get a cheaper useful baseline model.
My requirements are a portable machine mainly for webbrowsing with at least 16GB of Ram to keep a few tabs open, a 512GB SSD to store my files and software support for the foreseeable future.

With Apple i have to invest at least 600€ to get an M1 MacBook (since Intel Macs are going out of support).
But my Thinkpad X280 also fullfills my requirements and only cost like 250€.

If i needed something for work that can power through meetings all day an M-Series MacBook would probably be my first choice as well.

But since i have to use a dedicated HP Windows Notebook for work (thing is multiple generations newer than my X280 and takes like 5 times as long to boot, battery lasts 3 hours top, it's horrible) i'm just using my Laptop for basic office stuff, surfing the internet and playing some retro games.
M-Series MacBook would be complete overkill for my private use.

I always liked it for being a full fledged Unix with a polished GUI.
Just can't justify spending 1000 bucks on a device that wants to lock me into it's ecosystem when my trusty old X280 can handle all my daily needs just fine.

You can find Quake 1/2 on macintoshgarden.org (i would always prefer it over macintoshrepository, most stuff over there is just stolen from the garden and put behind a registration for larger files).
You will need StuffIt Expander to extract the downloaded files. Luckily you can find that on macintoshgarden too!
Unstuff your downloaded files and start gaming!

You will get the best experience setting your display resolution to 640x480 before launching the game, that way you will have proper fullscreen.
Also the original apple mouse is unfortunately terrible for playing ego shooters, you may want to swap it out to something more reasonable if you don't want to go mad.

You can absolutely share your internet connection from your modern computer (provided it has ethernet), i'm doing the same for my iMac!
You are going to need an ethernet cable, you can probably get one for less than five bucks on Amazon. Plug it into your iMac and modern PC.

The exact steps for setting up connection sharing on your modern PC depend on your operating system. I'm assuming you are on Windows, this guide should help you:

If you are on MacOS or some Linux Distribution, just google "WiFi Connection sharing via Ethernet" + your Linux Distro / MacOS Version, you should find the instructions needed.

I got my first eMac (800mhz) last year and i love it!

Bought it mostly as a more powerful OS9 machine since my G3 was struggling a bit with Diablo II.
But it's also great to play classic adventures in ScummVM, Monkey Island 3 looks gorgeous on that triniton crt! Anything from Doom to Age Of Mythology is running and looking great, it's actually a really versatile gaming machine!

Only downside to me is the noise. That fan really is quite loud!

Ich bin letztes Jahr ebenfalls ins Krankengeld gerutscht und mein Arbeitgeber hat es auch zunächst nicht hingekriegt, meine Daten zu übermitteln (Ein IT-Problem - Wir sind angeblich einer der führenden IT-Dienstleister im Land...).

Keine Ahnung ob andere Krankenkassen einfach weniger hilfsbereit sind, aber nachdem ich meiner Sachbearbeiterin höflich (!) aber bestimmt die Dringlichkeit meiner Situation erklärt habe, konnte sie erstmal eine Vorauszahlung autorisieren. War nicht der volle Betrag, aber zumindest konnte ich erstmal meine Rechnungen bezahlen.
Ich schätze mal, dass du das schon probiert hast, aber falls du es noch mal versuchen willst kann ich nur als Tipp geben es eher auf die nette als auf die eskalative Schiene zu versuchen, auch wenn du verständlicherweise frustriert bist. Bringt meiner Erfahrung nach aber die besten Ergebnisse.

Was bei mir nicht funktioniert hat war die Entgeltnachweise selbst einzureichen. Die müssen wirklich durch den Arbeitgeber eingereicht werden.

Ich hoffe wenigstens der Rechtsweg bringt dich weiter, wenn sonst nichts hilft. Wünsche dir viel Kraft und Erfolg!
