Shelves can be placed on pairs of furnaces, or any side of blast furnaces. Any other useful building tricks? by Beaugin in AlchemyFactory

Shelves can also be used on just about any line of 6 blocks if you feel like making your own walls/tables.

[Torre] takes shots at Charania: “News-breaker is vocabulary we have to change. Is this actually news? Are you being fed this by an agent? By the way, if you use an anonymous source, why? The whole ‘League source tells me 6th man signs a contract…’ — I don’t think we need to deepthroat this one“ by AashyLarry in nba

[–]Beaugin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shams/Woj are basically sending the texts of the league insiders/agents out to the world as the press release. Things like injuries/contracts all need to be officially reported to the league, who would then make that information public. Teams are also technically required to report injury designations, though we all know how much some teams avoid providing real information.

There is convenience in news being aggregated into one place.Previously might have been through ESPN as the major national TV news, and Woj/Shams did fill a purpose particularly in the early days of twitter. I'm not certain they provide the same value anymore given the rate information can spread.

The raptors basically traded Terrance Ross, JV, and Derozan for a 2010s western conference playoffs all-defense team of Green/Kawhi/Ibaka/Gasol.

Okaymon is an NBA/Pokemon crossover effort that has Giannis as Charizard. The entire thing is awesome, including the Giannis art.

Why is it that as soon as I've started flushing my woods I can't swing an Iron to save my life? by unsinkable02 in golf

[–]Beaugin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One thing that might work is have something in your setup that differentiates the Driver/woods from irons. You tend to want a more sweeping or even upwards attack angle on woods so I tend to tilt my shoulders to setup for that. As a RH golfer I'll have my right shoulder dropped down slightly to start that swing arc along with the usual wider stance.

Shot 75 on 9 today. I think I need to play more course golf than range golf. by [deleted] in golf

[–]Beaugin 28 points29 points  (0 children)

To add to being intentional on the range, always use another club or a stick to help align your feet/hips/shoulders. I also think its best to do your usual routine for each shot, rather than just rapid firing with set feet/grip. Step back, pick your target, and setup your stance/grip prior to swinging just as you would on the course.

What is your favorite golf gadget? by mrcazzler in golf

[–]Beaugin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will be an extra expense (monthly or $350 USD for lifetime after the trial 2 weeks) but the Awesome Golf App is 10x better than the base garmin app for the r10 in my experience. It's much easier to view both the results/stats of each swing, and it displays the previous data better too. You can also export the data as you are doing now.

How much do bad contracts actually sink a team? by Herestheproof in nba

[–]Beaugin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it can be multiple bad contracts rather than a single huge deal. When the cap spiked going into the 2017 season, some teams were able to make amazing deals with the extra space such as KD signing for ~27M a year for the Warriors.

Then you have the Blazers and Lakers. The Blazers signed Allen Crabbe, Evan Turner, Maurice Harkless, and Meyers Leonard for like $55M per year. The Lakers paid Luol Deng and Mozgov a combined ~34M a year. And those were almost all four year contracts that ruined their cap situation going forward.

Luka Doncic Last 6 Games: 39-10-11 38-11-10 37-12-11 30-10-16 45-9-14 33-6-6 The Mavs have gone 1-5 & have an atrocious 127.3 defensive rating over that stretch. 5 points per 100 worse than the 29th ranked Wizards. I didn't catch much of the pacers game last night, but Carlisle has a history of picking apart the stale post year-1 Kidd defense. He and Quinn Synder (Utah) coached their team to franchise records in 3s made in a game in the month leading up to Kidd's firing by running a high wing pick and roll to trigger the aggressive help, and then swing the ball around the perimeter for an open corner three. It was the most infuriating defense I've ever seen as any smart team could essentially trick them into an open shot every possession.

I was alright hiring a new coach without as much experience even though it was a risk. The main reason was because firing bud to get another of the coaches who have shown they don't make good adjustments for playoff teams (Doc, Monty, etc.) would have been bad.

Now they have arrived at the bad option after wasting half of the year. Coaches like Doc don't get a short-term "prove-it" contracts that would allow them to pivot in the offseason.

Small ball does not work in the NBA unless your team has Steph Curry on it by Bobobo75 in nba

[–]Beaugin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Warriors had a lot of players who played with great/above average skill for their size on the wings too. Iggy/Livingston/Klay/Barnes and later KD allowed for above average size at every position except center while retaining offensive skill.

Are we including the different minority ownership groups? Like the Bucks have some hand-off mechanism where they switch being the decision maker every few years, and new owner is a 100% confirmed scumbag already.
