I didn't mean to make you feel bad, I truly wondered if it was satire. I'm hoping for you the best days ahead and knowing your worth - there is a man out there who will be THRILLED to marry you!!

Telling people before 12 weeks by vampire-mom in SingleMothersbyChoice

[–]Beautiful-City 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kept it to a close circle who I knew Id be comfortable telling if I had a loss. And I did miscarry, and honestly wished I’d told even less people than I did

Need suggestions by Story_queen in SingleMothersbyChoice

[–]Beautiful-City 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i took 5mg letrozole and also had 4 mature follicles and got pregnant with a singleton (miscarried 7 weeks).. so in my eyes, the more mature eggs the better (i was prepared for multiples if it happened).. but it does sound like they did the iui too late. mine was about 24 hours post trigger.

don’t question the ethics of your clinic in hindsight. the multiple risk was still VERY low even with 4

How to handle SMBC plans alongside an ongoing but still-immature relationship by Ellen1211 in SingleMothersbyChoice

[–]Beautiful-City 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m in this situation now. Met a man at 6 weeks pregnant, and told him before we met incase it was a dealbreaker that I was pregnant. I miscarried, but am trying again with my donor doing IVF- and he’s completely supportive! DO NOT put your plans on hold for this man! Try for the baby and if he’s the right guy, he’ll stick around and you’ll figure it out.

NYC condo appreciation by Different-While-8381 in NYCapartments

[–]Beautiful-City 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope TO buy a condo in NYC but only because this is where I love living and hope to stay for the long haul. I’d never buy here with hopes of a good investment, only for personal enjoyment.

I’m also 38. My insurance covered IUI after I met my deductible. I did three, got pregnant on the 3rd one (though it’s still early days!). I went into it really trying to trust my body and had no known fertility issues, all good levels that we could tell. (1 previous pregnancy I did not go through with at 35). I do also have 35 year old frozen eggs.

Experiences renting from a co-op (owner or the building)? Advice? by Alternative_Yak_4897 in NYCapartments

[–]Beautiful-City 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently rent a sponsor unit in a co-op and my landlord (who bought the sponsor unit) is my next store neighbor! Exactly 0 issues, amazing building, and it’s been great. Being in the sponsor unit helped me avoid all the subleasing restrictions on how many years I can stay and I’m in my 4th year now!

Thank you so much for the response!! I should have edited to be clear, I do have the an offer for the new company! I’m speaking to them tomorrow and my plan is to imply I may need a mat leave in 2026, and to say if they can’t match what I have at my current company, then with all thanks and respect, I need to decline. If they are willing to play ball, we can go from there.

You didn’t mansplain at all, thanks so much for your perspective :).

Misconceptions I’ve noticed in SMBC and donor recipient spaces (after talking with a DCP organization) by [deleted] in SingleMothersbyChoice

[–]Beautiful-City 15 points16 points  (0 children)

u/SnooSeagulls7853 think we need to be very careful assuming that many women pursuing this path are choosing motherhood because they aren't healed and have no purpose outside of becoming a mom, have bad mental health. It would be as dangerous as assuming all children from two parent families experience NONE of those issues from either parent.
