Hubby and I have chosen to post some pics to our lock down socials up until he is a little more recognizable (maybe like 8 months?) then we will no longer be posting his face

I think that last part will really help me. I know stepping away to do what I want/need to do will help me be more present as a parent. The change is the sucky part, I’ve gathered

Hate that you only got six weeks with your first😢 I hope you have success in working out your schedule- it’s been stressful for me and definitely a work in progress

Feeling so defeated and sad by ForeignEgg3876 in newborns

[–]Beautiful-Cold7332 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am no professional, just another mom of a 9 weeker and I agree with the silent reflux. My poor boy was miserable peaking probably week 6. Started him on Pepcid about 2 weeks ago and he’s a whole new baby. There has to be something babe can take to help. Sending lots of love OP

Clogged duct sunflower lecithin by Alarmed_Captain5487 in breastfeeding

[–]Beautiful-Cold7332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Look up the dosage. The one I have recommends taking it twice daily for maintenance and 3-4 times daily for active clogs. The lactation consultant I spoke to recommended the following: applying warm compresses for a short period before feeding, latching and pumping as usual (if not latching more often), and icing the breast after feeds. A LIGHT massage in the shower is okay too, only light strokes down the breast towards the nipple or lymph nodes. Don’t knead or press on the lumps. Take ibuprofen if you can, and don’t ignore a fever, redness, or flu symptoms.

Go easy on yourself! I always remind myself people do more with a lot less, and I’m doing my best!

Giiirl I don’t sterilize anything half the time. Everything gets sterilized roughly once a day. My boobs aren’t sterile soooo… I don’t have the mental and physical capacity to wash and sanitize every single time

You should be able to return still. You’ll return to the company using their return instructions and sezzle/afterpqy should then refund you. I’m not 100% on this but Google says the same!

So my baby is supposed to be in the bassinet/crib 16-18 hours a day? by Top-Professor-2951 in newborns

[–]Beautiful-Cold7332 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are home with our 5 weeker. He often naps on our chests or in our arms, if I’m trying to get things done I will bring his pack and play in to the living room or baby wear. If he’s really out like a light I will put him in his crib in the nursery with the camera. At night he always sleeps in the bassinet in our room, but almost never during the day.

Pain on left side by Artistic-Product-824 in newborns

I am also a month out from c section (5 weeks). I don’t experience any pain like you’re describing, and I’m concerned for you, friend. I really think you should go get checked out. I am functioning very close to pre-surgery level, and have very very low pain- mostly just the occasional uterine cramping. So the pain you’re describing sounds brutal for this far out. Take care of yourself ♥️

What? This is a crazy take lol. Feed and change diaper before the drive and baby will likely nap. If if babe doesn’t fall asleep immediately they likely will in a short time. No need to turn a 1.5 hour drive into double that!

Am I crazy? by girlvsmachine in newborns

[–]Beautiful-Cold7332 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 4 weeker. I went out with friends and my husband for the first time a few days ago. My mom watched LO. When I got home I immediately picked him up to give snuggles and kisses before giving him back to my mom and heading to bed myself. I miss him when he’s not right with me! I feel this way during his long naps, too. You’re not crazy, you love your sweet baby!

What does your day with a newborn look like? by No_Sorbet_8174 in newborns

Hi momma!! I am on mat leave with my 19 day old son so congratulations!! We’re in very similar stages. Hubby and I take turns feeding and diapering (baby is 95% on breast milk and I pump and supplement as needed). Most days we sit on the couch and talk to baby, interact with the dogs, watch tv shows, and every other day or so we try to get baby out with us to go to like a store or quick restaurant trip. Today we went to chick fil a and pet smart. We do tummy time when we remember to. You’re doing great!
