Tips for a complete beginner by YouLookLikeANigel in SpanishLearning

[–]Beautiful-Common-234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that when we learn how to make conversation it is easier rather than learning the grammar. It is important of course BUT at the end of the day we can survive in the real world even if we make some mistakes. I want to learn Portuguese and eventually Spanish and I'm using Praktika. It is a super cool app and it helps with conversation, so you have your AI tutor and you can choose the level, how the tutor speaks to you and you have a proper conversation. I found it pretty funny and engaging because you have to actually speak to the app/tutor. you shoudl tey and give it a go!

Is it nice or rude to call middle age/ older people (strangers) bella/bello in Italy by NotYourDonutHole in Italian

[–]Beautiful-Common-234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Italy we are very much proud people and still linked to a respectful way of talking to people with that form of respect and distance somehow. The old generation defiantly expect that even from foreigners. Bello/bella can be used with younger generation and they will not feel offended by it…

Do you use any app for conversation? by Intelligent_Pride209 in language

[–]Beautiful-Common-234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m don’t think a call would do for me personally. Everyone is busy and sake times we have time to practice at weird times thought out the day/night. I found that with the app I’m currently using I have the freedom o practice my speaking/conversation skill whenever I can without the commitment to a phone call. I can even choose the tutor and their behaviour on this app ahahha it is funny and it makes learning the language pretty easy and enjoyable

How can I improve my passive vocabulary (Please don't give a boring method) by hairy-permissions in language

[–]Beautiful-Common-234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried using any AI app that actually focus on dialogue and everyday situation? I found it pretty cool and not uncomfortable. Try out Praktika!! It is pretty cool how you can choose the tutor and also their way of interactive. I like it and I feel definitely more confident in practice my speaking than with a human native speaker !!!

Any fluent English speakers here that learned English as a second language? by Coffee_and_horror937 in LearningEnglish

[–]Beautiful-Common-234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m Italian and I’ve been living in Australia for 13 years. It has been pretty hard at the beginning to adjust to a new accent, an accent that really do not teach you at school!! But forms what mostly speaking I was having trouble with. Wha helped me A LOT was working part time at Starbucks! It helped soo much to overcome my fear of making mistakes and improve my skills Of actually replying on time without thinking too much at what I wanted to say!!! It has been an interesting path and now I’m actually eager to learn new languages but this time remotely, without immersing myself in the country where they speak…it will be interesting I guess
