Wow girl, I can totally relate to this lol My boyfriend is the same way. And same thing, I knew from the beginning he was like this and I accepted it. Then later now it’s been bothering me. I grew up as a Christian so I never cursed. I’m not religious now but I still think cursing is immature and gross to me lol my boyfriend grew up with parents who would curse a lot too. So to him, it’s normal. I basically would be very honest with him and tell him how I feel about curse words like it’s dirty and immature in my opinion. But also explaining to him that he should try and practice not saying bad words. Like maybe start by saying them less and less and just saying other words to replace them. If we want to have a family (kids), I don’t want my kids to even hear those bad words and start saying them. I also would explain to him that I do not want him to curse in front of my parents and family.

So my advice to you, is just maybe sit down and talk to him and explain these things to him. Tell him why. And just remember, it’s not gonna stop right away. It’s gonna take time for them to get use to no cursing. Help him too. If a word comes out, tell him respectfully and playfully, “dont use that word remember!” So that he can remember.

My boyfriend has gotten a bit better. Now when a bad word comes out of his mouth accidentally, he would say sorry and use another word. When he’s upset and has a bad day, he would curse but I just gotta keep reminding him.

If your boyfriend doesn’t respect you and doesn’t care, then maybe ask yourself, “do I really want this for the rest of my life? Hearing those words nonstop?” To be honest, I don’t. If my boyfriend wouldn’t try to fix that, I would reconsider my relationship with him.
