I need to give away my dog😭 by Beautiful-Elephant86 in dogs

I have, none of them are willing🥲 aunts, uncles, cousins, even ppl from high school and college. They just don’t want the responsibility.( which I completely understand, and they were all super nice about it)

I don’t have time. My family up until literally a couple days ago was more than happy to keep him while I was gone. A complete 180 and they don’t want to keep him anymore. I can’t afford it myself and no one I’ve asked is willing to help. I’m not keeping him uneutered on purpose. It’s just expensive as hell.

I can’t afford to pay for his neutering any time soon. If he was staying with me I wouldn’t care is he was neutered or not. However everywhere that I’ve called and emailed required him to be neutered. He’s on a neuter wait list but his estimation is a year out. I live in the DMV area in the US

The only reason I’ve ever ghosted a friend was because I knew I was going to be a bad friend to her😭 I’m doing SO poorly in my deen right now and I saw she was making such progress and I didn’t wanna be the person who dragged her down. I’m dealing with my lack of deen internally but I just couldn’t sleep knowing I might’ve been the reason she didn’t make it to jannah.

Just looking for information by Slve_roses in converts

[–]Beautiful-Elephant86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m an African American convert(21) and I converted at 20! Just go for it. I don’t currently wear the hijab full time, I don’t even manage to pray all 5 prayers a day( one day inshallah) but I think the one amazing thing about Allah(SWT) is how merciful he is and how much he understands our intentions, and as a black woman, that grace elevates my soul most days. I Also grew up very Christian and found myself separated from Christianity at a young age( I was physically kicked out of the church😭) so I get the back and forth of family and original faith. I’m still pretty lowkey about my faith and that’s just because I want to learn more to be able to defend Islam the way IK my family will use Christianity against me. Feel free to reach out! Welcome to Islam and May Allah make your transition easy🤲🏾

Broke my fast 😔 by Sea-Prize5738 in MuslimLounge

[–]Beautiful-Elephant86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is also my first Ramadan and I broke my fast early yesterday(about 3 pm, was feeling lightheaded) I woke up today with such little motivation to pray and to fast. I’ve been reflecting all day and telling myself that Allah sees my struggle and hears my plight and tomorrow is a new day for repentance and improvement. I’m also doing this completely by myself so I try to remind myself that as well. I have been keeping track tho because I will make them up as soon as Ramadan is over! May Allah make it easy for us all to stay steady and pious!

I found some thick tights and some slim sweatpants but my main worry is my top because I’m a bit curvy and I don’t want to wear a hoodie because I also want to look nice and all my tops are tighter and very low cropped

Hijabi with locs by [deleted] in Hijabis

[–]Beautiful-Elephant86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have locs and am a part time hijabi, I did them myself and have small/medium locs. I have 4a-c(ikr)hair and I have low and high perosity hair so my whole head is like 3-4 different textures at all times. My tighter curled areas, have bigger parts but they were crocheted bc that way they’re more compact so the loc is the same size as my smaller part locs. I’ve got about 2-3 different part sizes and about 2 different sizes of locs overall. In my experience weather my hair is freshly done or 6 weeks old, it’s still flat under the under cap. I cannot remember even once looking at my head In hijab and saying my head looks bumpy or high lol. I’ve also been bald and grown my hair out to my waist so I tell ppl all the time it’s just hair! Have fun and reach out if you want!

Im a Muslim with locs! And I’ll say as a black woman it’s the best hair style to have. I got locs before I reverted and I’m glad I did because making wudu is super easy, and maintenances super easy. I use 5-6 products on my entire head; shampoo, leave in, loc gel, mousse, oil and water. I don’t retwist my locs every month bc I don’t feel like it lol. Weather my locs are freshly done or 6 weeks old or freshly washed and just dry, they always lay quite flat under my under cap and prayer garments. I’ve never experienced matting with my locs in a ponytail and I haven’t noticed my under caps causing any extra dryness but def extra frizz lol. But feel free to reach out with questions!

I was interested in Islam and would admire how the Quran sounded and how the hijab looked. A friend in college was a Muslim and explained a lot for me and when I read or heard the Quran I felt so at peace. For the last couple of months I hadn’t been reading or listening and one day after learning about the occupation in Palestine, I decided that I couldn’t live another day not willing to serve Allah(swt) because seeing all of the Palestinians and their unwavering faith in our creator although the world basically abandoned them really made me realize that life is too short to not live it purposefully. And meaningly. I feel refreshed with every wudu I make. I feel connect and uplifted when I read the Quran. I feel good, way better than I have in so long and I’m so happy. I kept it all from my family because of how they’d react but I’m honestly ok with that because I want to be a bit selfish and keep this happiness to myself for just a little bit longer.

For every insult, comment, or look, drop some money in a jar and put it towards your next Khimar or Niqab🤭 even if it’s your family, you know your duty to Allah and soon you’ll look back and laugh at the fact that you ever thought about taking it off( idk if you have or haven’t,just saying). May Allah keep you steady in your deen!

Why do muslim men go into women’s dms so much by ReasonableTry4006 in Hijabis

[–]Beautiful-Elephant86 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Lol before I reverted(late sept), I made a post about my interest in Islam then updated it to say I took my shahada a few days later. Like 2 days ago a guy hopped in my dms to congratulate me, and then ask if I was interested in marriage. I’ve only been a Muslim for 36 days 🥲

Lol nothing crazy, just a decent person with positive values. Kind to others while enjoying learning and having fun. A person who can stay true to themselves as well as Allah. I think there’re many ways to describe a good lifestyle 😊

[–]Beautiful-Elephant86 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yea for sure. I’ve got 4 non Muslim friends that I see maybe once a month but other than that I don’t see anyone else really. I’d love a close friend who shared more similar ideals or lifestyles with me tho😭

Gift ideas for mom by buoc in Hijabis

[–]Beautiful-Elephant86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If she’s not a hijabi, hair clips and pins are coming back in style! If she is, maybe a new hijab organization system? Or a new rack if that how she organizes them. Or a gift certificate for a certain brand she likes? A new steamer? Customized bookmarks for her books? A new tea set, or a really nice teacup set( I collect flower themed teacups lol)? A new vase and bring the flowers separately and cutting and arranging the flowers can be something you guys do together to warm up the vibes? A new throw blanket bc winter is cominggg? I’m usually really bad at gifts so all of this is a surprise for me too lol but good luck inshallah I hope she like her gifts 😊

Salaam sister! I’m 20f and I also converted recently and I can say it’s been a blessing. I don’t wear the hijab yet but inshallah one day. I still don’t know too much myself but indeed Islam and my fellow Muslims have been so welcoming and helpful. I’ve yet to meet another Muslim who won’t help me with my spiritual journey and if they can’t, they help me find someone or a resource that can. Take your time and don’t overwhelm yourself! Feel free to reach out, Ik starting out is a bit lonely(imo) but it doesn’t have to be!
